Position Summary
We are looking for an MEP Engineer to support Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design projects. You will work on HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, fire protection, and related building services. In this role, you will prepare design drawings, calculations, and technical documentation. You will also coordinate with other engineering teams and support construction-related queries.
The role is ideal for engineers who enjoy multidisciplinary design work and want experience with U.S.-based standards and international projects.
The successful candidate's role and compensation will be commensurate with their experience and qualifications, with opportunities for Lead or Senior positions for the candidates with extensive, relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review MEP designs, calculations, and drawings for commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
- Coordinate with Civil, Structural, and Architectural teams to resolve design issues.
- Ensure MEP designs follow U.S. codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Assist with construction support, RFIs, site coordination, and as-built documentation.
- Maintain organized project files, drawings, and documentation.
- Prepare electrical system layouts, power distribution plans, lighting, grounding, and panel schedules.
- Use CADSoft, AutoCAD, or similar software for detailed electrical drawings.
- Perform load calculations, short circuit analysis, and coordination with electrical engineers.
- Review vendor and equipment specifications and incorporate them into designs.
- Prepare HVAC layouts, ducting, piping, and mechanical system drawings.
- Perform calculations for air conditioning, heating, ventilation, and plumbing systems.
- Use MVAC design software (such as Carrier HAP, AutoCAD MEP, or Revit MEP) for modeling and detailing.
- Coordinate with electrical and structural teams for mechanical system integration.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in MEP design or building services.
- Knowledge of electrical design software (CADSoft, AutoCAD) and mechanical design software (Revit MEP, MVAC tools).
- Understanding of U.S. building codes and international standards (NEC, ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.).
- Ability to read drawings, specifications, and vendor documentation.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience in commercial, industrial, or residential building projects.
- Familiarity with BIM platforms (Revit, BIM 360, Navisworks).
- Experience in reviewing shop drawings and coordinating with contractors.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency, sustainable design, or LEED standards.
