Centre for Mental Health and Counselling – Nepal (CMC-Nepal), a national NGO working for mental health and psychosocial support, invites a call for the application in its project entitled Inclusive Community Mental Health Program (ICMHP), implementing in Surkhet and Dailekh districts from January 2020, with the funding support of CBM. This project aims to improve quality of life for the persons living with mental health conditions and psychosocial disability in collaboration with local governments through increasing access to quality mental health and psychosocial services and empowering people with psychosocial disability to claim their rights and advocate for their meaningful participation in community development process.
It, therefore, seeks a candidate for the following position:
1. Mental Health Supervisor- 1 full-time position, based in Surkhet Office with frequent field visits to project areas) is responsible for providing technical and management support to the Mental Health Social Workers (MHSW) in conducting mental health and psychosocial awareness activities, empowering mental health self-help groups in self-advocacy and social inclusion and conducting relevant training and supervision of the health care service providers in mental health and psychosocial counselling.
Requirements:
- Bachelor in Psychiatric Nursing / Public Health/ Psychology/Counselling Psychology/Social Work or PGD in Psychosocial Counselling from the recognized University
- 3 years of working experience in community-based mental health and psychosocial support program, working with health care providers, psychosocial workers, MHSW, Self-Help Groups and Organizations of Persons with Disabilities
- Having practical and strong background in training and supervision to health workers in mental health and psychosocial skills, and further enhancing supportive supervisory roles of MHSW in mental health care and psychosocial counselling.
- Having good comprehension and learning attitude in mental health, psychosocial interventions and disability inclusion.
- Strong coordination, networking and facilitation skills.
- Good report writing, documentation and communication skills in both English and Nepali languages.
- Computer Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, data management and project monitoring skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships within and outside the organization.
