Aasaman Nepal (ASN), a pioneer organization for education and nutrition, is one of the leading Terai based NGOs led and managed by social activists since its establishment in Dhanusha, Janakpur in 1999. ASN has been engaged in developing and implementing programs aimed at protection, promotion, and fulfillment of child rights in Nepal. Currently ASN has been working in 20 districts under 6 Thematic Areas as: Education/Child Protection, Women Empowerment, Livelihood/ Natural Resource Management, Disaster Risk Reduction, Health/ Nutrition and Good Governance.

Aasaman Nepal, in partnership with Welthungerhilfe, is implementing the Civil society for nature-based local agri-food-systems (CS4FS) which aims to improve the food security and resilience of 3000 marginalized households in three municipalities of Dhanusa District. 

The project contributes to the promotion of local agri-food systems through nature-based solutions and policy localization led by civil society organizations in Madhesh Province, Nepal. It is intended that 3,000 marginalized households have transitioned towards a regenerative agriculture production at the project end, civil society actors from the agricultural sector promote and advocate regenerative agriculture at municipal and provincial level and 3 local governments support policy and programmes in agriculture in line with the agro-ecological principles (municipal/provincial level). 

Aasaman Nepal is looking for self-motivated, result-oriented, and hard-working Nepali citizens for the following positions:

1. MEAL Officer – Janakpur- One 

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Management of Program Data

  • Establish and maintain effective data collection and management systems. 
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency. 
  • Apply quality control measures to improve data reliability. 
  • Indicator, AAT and DIP Tracking, including planning, program support, and monitoring of project quality benchmarks.
  • Tracking, follow-up, and documentation of recommendations, feedback, and MEAL action points.

2. Analytical Data Presentation

  • Analyze and present program data clearly and effectively. 
  • Develop and maintain data collection and reporting templates.
  • Provide evidence-based recommendations for program improvement. 
  • Improve data collection processes in coordination with stakeholders. 
  • Use appropriate statistical tools for data analysis.

3. Support to Project Team Members

  • Provide data-based support for planning and decision-making. 
  • Ensure compliance with data management standards and protocols. 
  • Support team members through training and relevant resources. 

4. Disaggregated Data Recording and Reporting

  • Effectively manage the recording and reporting of disaggregated data.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy and confidentiality standards when handling disaggregated data.
  • Promote inclusivity and address disparities through the use of disaggregated data.
  • Prepare high- quality narrative and quantitative reports.
  • Ensure reports meet organizational standards and donor requirements.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to incorporate feedback into reports.

  • Show cultural awareness and effective communication skills, along with a willingness to undertake field visits as necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in program related to Agriculture, Foresty, Environmental Science GESI, gender transformative and social norms, disability and inclusion etc. 
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in development studies, Agriculture, Foresty, Environmental Science, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Development Studies, Gender & Development, Management, Gender/Women’s study/social science or related field.
  • At least two years of relevant proven experience as a MEAL Officer or in similar role. 
  • Strong proficiency in data management and analysis.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem- solving skills.
  • Excellent report writing skills in English.

Languages

Strong command of Nepali, English (oral and written) and local language preferred/required.
