Swayam Gyan Adhyan Sanstha (SAS) is an institution of higher learning in Boudhanath for those wishing to deepen their understanding of Buddhist philosophy and practice. SAS has been conducting seminars and study programs for more than 25 years. Since 2001, the Institute has worked in close partnership with Kathmandu University to manage the Kathmandu University Centre for Buddhist Studies at SAS which offers undergraduate and post-graduate degree courses in Buddhist Studies and related topics.

The Marketing Manager is responsible developing an organizational marketing strategy in conjunction with the Senior Management Team (SMT) and overseeing the implementation of all tactics. Major tasks include creating an annual marketing and communications plan, supervising members of the marketing team and coordinating with internal partners. Specific areas of work include:
- Developing a marketing strategy to increase RYI’s global profile, positioning and outreach among current and potential students, alumni, supporters, academics and potential donors in line with RYI’s mission, values and priorities.
- Developing seasonal campaigns to promote RYI’s programs: BA, MA, Study Abroad, Summer Program, Translator Training Program, and Fall Seminar.
- Carrying out market research to increase RYI’s understanding of its student demographic, potential new markets and strategic and competitive position.
- Identifying new or improved marketing platforms and tools.
- Preparing an annual marketing and communications plan that includes a timeline and budget, and then managing the implementation of the plan.
- Managing the RYI brand including visual and content related brand standards.
- Overseeing the regular updating of all associated websites: www.ryi.org and www.ryif.org.
- Overseeing all email communications including regular newsletters, promotions and updates.
- Leading RYI’s social media presence including regular posting, campaigns, promotions and advertising.
- Gathering, analyzing and reporting marketing data to assess the effectiveness of marketing strategies.
- Supervising or collaborating with outside consultant who may be hired to meet RYI’s marketing objectives.
Qualified candidates will have a B.A in Marketing or related field and 5+ years of requisite marketing experience.
