Lead Researcher/Project Officer/Field Coordinators

Practical Action Consulting Pvt Ltd is calling for multiple positions for an anticipated project related to dissemination of approx. 2,000 eCooking appliances in the district of Gandaki, Lumbini and Koshi Province. The project will be implemented in 1-2 districts of each province. The project is expected to span for 15-20 months and is likely to start from April 2024. The positions required for this assignment are;

Lead Researcher: The purpose of this role is to lead the market research under the guidance of team leader. The candidate is expected to generate data and findings to interpret consumer preference on use and applicability of electric cooking appliances, effectiveness of existing supply chain of electric cooking appliances and identify measure to increase the efficiency of the supply chain and measure to create enabling environment for the activation of the supply chain.

About you

You have willingness and enthusiasm to work in challenging and difficult situations. You have a proven experience in conducting research (action research, market research etc). You have experience of designing research methodology and interpreting the research result in the form of recommendation to address the research objectives. You have at least a bachelor’s degree in social science, management, environment science and relevant faculty. Having experience in clean cooking including electric cooking and renewable energy will be an added value for the candidacy.

Project Officer: The purpose of this role is to implement and report progress of the project activities under the guidance of project manager. The candidate is expected to have regular field visit outside Kathmandu and execute project implementation plan, monitor the progress of the project, and manage field coordinators and enumerators. The project officer will work with communication and marketing expert to support in development of communication and marketing materials and tools which is to be executed at the field level. The project officer will have mandate to develop relationship among market actors, potential market actors and stakeholder to ensure activation of the supply chain for electric cooking appliances.

About you

You have a proven track record of implementing, managing, and tracking progress of the project at the district level. You have experience working with local level stakeholders and fostering relationship with and among stakeholders and market actors. You have experience managing field coordinators and other field level staffs. You have at least a bachelor’s degree in social science, environment science and relevant faculty. Having experience in clean cooking including electric cooking and renewable energy will be an added value for the candidacy.

Field Coordinators: The project is seeking for three field coordinators with a purpose to oversee field level activities. The field coordinators will work with project officer to coordinate field level activities and support market actors of eth supply chain. The field coordinators will play key role in demand creation for eCooking appliances. The candidate will be located at the field and will contiguously work during building rapport with local level project stakeholders.

About you

You have willingness and enthusiasm to work in challenging and difficult situations at district level. You have a proven experience in coordinating with local level stakeholders and support them to deliver the desired output. You have experience building rapport with local level stakeholders and understand the local surroundings and dynamics. You have communication skills that is required to facilitate relationship among project stakeholders and beneficiaries. You have at least a bachelor’s degree in social science, management, environment science and relevant faculty. Having experience in clean cooking including electric cooking and renewable energy will be an added value for the candidacy.
