Community Development Organization Bardiya (CDO) is a non-governmental organization established in 2001 working for the poorest of the poor and most vulnerable people of the society to improve the integral aspect of their lives. The organization has been implementing the integrated community development projects in the Bardiya district since last 15 years. CDO is seeking a qualified and motivated staff for the position mentioned below. 

Post title: Finance and Admin Officer 

Location: Gulariya, Bardiya 

Duration: The initial contract will be for 1 year, with the option to extend based on satisfactory performance. This will be subjected 3 months as probation period

Contract Date: Immediately 

Other benefits: As per organization policy and Labor Act of Nepal

Reports to: Executive Director

Overall Responsibilities:

  • FAO will be responsible for making payments in cash and bank to all vendors, suppliers, consultants 
  • To keep track of all financial records, both in relation to petty cash and other regular expenses and make accounting entries in the computerized system 
  • Handling petty cash and making monthly reconciliation
  • To handle TAX clearance and other financial compliances with concerned departments of government as well as concerned agencies 
  • Reconciliation of staff advances and making necessary entries
  • To manage employee files and other files and records in order to ensure accurate payment of benefits and allowances - review of personnel records like; staff contracts, leave reports, training, time sheet, travelling documents etc. 
  • To provide appropriate support on procurement of goods and supervise goods. 
  • To resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities, ensuring that all bills submitted by staff are legitimate and correct.
  • HR and Administration management.

Required Qualification and Capacity: 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Management, 
  • Experience working with an I/NGOs 
  • Good command in English & Nepali languages written and spoken,
  • Having 2 years relevant experience in the field of Accounts, Finance & Administration management,  
  • Be familiar with institutional donor financial requirements,  
  • Good Working knowledge in Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and Email),  
  • Familiar with busy working environment, handling with pressure of works and meet the deadlines
  • Good in communication with people from diverse communities and places. 
  • Experience in working with any accounting software is desirable.
