Samagra Jan-Utthan Kendra (APEC) envisions to achieve justice for all people, grounded in human rights, through a collaborative and peaceful process in the society. APEC in partnership with GIZ-CPS (Civil Peace Service) is working for peace building using Dialogue as a conflict transformation tool in Siraha district, Madesh province. The organization strengthens community dialogue forums and inter-religious dialogue through various dialogue-committees and engages in peace education.

We are seeking an enthusiast intern for program who is committed to strengthening sustainable peace and harmony through Dialogue as a conflict transformation tool. 

Program:  Civil Peace Service “Institutionalization of dialogue in Madhesh” 

Duration: April to September 2026

Working location: Lahan, Siraha, Madhesh Province  

Reports to: Local Peace Expert

Objective of the internship: 

The primary objective of this internship is to assist supervisor to manage Institutionalization of dialogue in Madhesh program smoothly. This opportunity will provide the theoretical as well as practical knowledge of dialogue culture to promote peace building processes in the community. Furthermore, the internship aims to cultivate a deeper understanding of the project, organizational structure and operational dynamics.

Responsibilities:

The intern shall assist Local Peace Expert to organize, implement, monitor and document project activities as well as in various day-to-day tasks. Specific tasks will include:

• Networking and coordination with peace actors and stakeholders 
• Prepare work plan and support to implement M&E (monitoring and evaluation) plan
• Assist in quality logistic and financial processes
• Support quality assurance in project planning, report writing and project related documentation

Requirements: 

• Intermediate degree in Social Science, Political Science, Conflict Management, Management or any related discipline will be added value (preferred Bachelor’s degree)
• Good knowledge of local language, English and Nepali (both verbal and written) 
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (word, excel, power point etc.)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills 
• Sensitivity to gender and cultural considerations
• Highly committed to grow professionally
• Experience in dialogue facilitation, moderation and training will be an asset
