Internship Opportunity

FHI 360 has been working in Nepal since 1993 in the areas of HIV/AIDS, family planning/reproductive health, nutrition, antimicrobial resistance, environment, capacity building, civil society and media strengthening, and governance reform. FHI 360’s work is grounded in evidence and aligns with and provides support to the Government of Nepal’s development priorities and plans. FHI 360 requests applications from interested and qualified individuals to work as interns in municipalities within Kathmandu Valley initially for a period of two months as part of the “Embracing Localization: Diversity Equity and Inclusion Internship Program” in coordination and collaboration with Municipal Association of Nepal (MuAN).

Interns (15 positions)

The intern will be placed in one of the 18 municipalities in Kathmandu Valley from August to September 2022. The intern will be working in one of the various thematic areas including environment, heritage, health, education, urban planning, gender and social inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in training and orientation provided by FHI 360 and/or municipalities
  • Coordinate with the municipality and the dedicated supervisor
  • Design and implement activities to achieve internship objectives. Potential activities include awareness-raising, training, outreach events, research or assessments, documentation, and design.
  • Produce a report and share it with FHI 360 and MuAN
  • Participate in any relevant events organized by FHI 360 or placement municipality or MuAN

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and demonstrated interest to work with municipality
  • Commitment to learn and contribute
  • Ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain positive working relationships 
  • Able to contribute full-time for at least two months (August-September 2022)
