Contract Type: Internship

Duration: 3 month

Base: Kathmandu Valley with occasional travel

Expected starting date: 1 May 2026

Key responsibilities: 

  • Support the conduction of research activities and collect relevant data to inform planning, programming, and advocacy initiatives at various levels.
  • Assist in the planning, preparation, and execution of surveys, ensuring quality and timeliness.
  • Support in the monitoring and supervision of survey progress, including coordination with field teams.
  • Assist in organizing meetings, workshops, and events to promote alliance and project-related activities.
  • Contribute to the preparation of advocacy materials, briefs, and position papers.
  • Participate in meetings, networks, and forums as required to represent ACF and support ongoing initiatives.
  • Support communication and outreach efforts, including documentation and dissemination of key messages.
  • Assist in the development of materials, tools, and training packages aligned with project commitments.
  • Support in finalizing the Guidelines on Nutrition Services, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with national standards.
  • Report any concerns, risks, or incidents in accordance with organizational procedures and safeguarding protocols.
  • Provide operational support to the Programme Manager, including coordination, documentation, and routine project management tasks.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and high‑quality completion of assigned responsibilities.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, partners, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
  • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and a positive work ethic in all tasks and interactions.
  • Provide regular progress updates, documentation, and reports highlighting achievements and challenges.
  • Proactively support ACF’s commitments to gender equality, child protection, disability inclusion, and do‑no‑harm principles.
  • Understand and adhere to the Safeguarding Policy and all related annexed policies within its scope of application.

Deliverables

  • Weekly activity and progress reports, summarizing key tasks completed, challenges, and next steps. 
  • Documentation of assigned tasks, including meeting notes, data collection summaries, and developed materials. 
  • Final internship report outlining major achievements, key learnings, challenges encountered, and recommendations for future improvements.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Nutrition, or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates whose academic programs require or include an internship component. 
  • Strong ability to analyze health and nutrition indicators, data trends, and contextual information. 
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills, with attention to clarity and detail. 
  • Prior experience or exposure to health or nutrition advocacy is an added advantage. 
  • Demonstrated autonomy, initiative, punctuality, and rigor in completing assigned tasks. 
  • Proficiency in English language (spoken and written) and solid computer skills (MS Office, data-entry tools, etc.) is essential.
