Community Development Centre (CDC)

CDC Doti is a Provincial non-profit organization, NGO working for the social and economic empowerment of people under the vulnerable zone and community. It was established on 16/09/2049 B.S and has been serving since 30 years for the same cause for social empowerment, inclusive and quality access to education, Disaster Preparedness and Humanitarian Response. Over the period since its inception, CDC has had long experience working with government, international non-government agencies, community based organization in various sectors of social and economic development. In addition, CDC supports community capacity strengthening for rural development, community groups and people on advocacy development in various sectors. CDC believes in human potentials and strives to empower social well-being, community-led development, accountability to community, donors and stakeholders, government and non-government agencies. In this period CDC Doti has developed strong networking, professional relationship among various organizations, networks and structures in the district and province . CDC has hands-on experience on social development, capacity strengthening of local level government, community based organization in Nepal.

Background of Organization:

The Community Development Centre (CDC), established in B.S. 2049 by a group of dedicated development professionals and activists, is a well-recognized non-governmental organization with over three decades of experience in community empowerment. With strong technical expertise, robust financial systems, and deep understanding of the local context, CDC has successfully implemented inclusive and multi-sectoral programs in Sudurpaschim and Karnali Provinces. 

Its areas work include inclusive education, health, WASH, disaster risk reduction, youth engagement, child protection, and women’s empowerment. By addressing pressing challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, harmful social practices, governance gaps, low educational performance, and persistent barriers faced by marginalized groups, CDC has played a pivotal role in driving sustainable improvements in the lives of vulnerable communities.

Currently, CDC (Community Development Center) is implementing Inclusive Future: Enhancing Education for All (NPK0011) program in Simikot, Kharpunath and Chankhali Rural municipality of Humla district. Hence, To ensure the effective and smooth implementation of this project, CDC invites applications from qualified, dynamic, and motivated Nepali citizens for the following position:

1Program Coordinator- 1 Position
  • Bachelor's degree in the given sector, management, social science or business studies with minimum 5 years working experience in managing multiple projects with diverse team or Master's degree in the relevant field, management, social science of business studies, preferred with minimum of 3 years of work experience in managing multiple projects with diverse team
  • Proven ability to manage risks and promote governance to contribute on strategic outcomes
  • Experience working with children and their wellbeing in both development or emergency contexts
  • Strong in quality report production and documentation.
  • Proven experience working in diverse and multicultural teams.
  • Strong Command on MS office and fluency in both written and spoken English and Nepali. 

Job Description- Program Coordinator

2Admin and Finance Officer- 1 Position
  • Bachelor's Degree of Commerce, Business Studies or Equivalent
  • Master's Degree in Finance/Accounting or Equivalent, preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in independently handling budgeting, financial accounting, planning and analysis in I/NGO 
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of MS office Package (Word/Excel/PowerPoint etc.) & Internet
  • Experience of working in a computerized accounting environment like FAMAS.
  • Ability to lead financial management of the project/program and make the linkage of this with overall financial management of the organization

Job Description- Admin and Finance Officer

3Field Officer (Education)- 2 Positions
  • Bachelors in Education or relevant discipline with two years of experience in Education project (preferably Early Grade Reading, Inclusive Education, School Safety, and/or Community based advocacy projects)
  • Good understanding of national and provincial education policies, frameworks, and guidelines.
  • Clear understanding of Project Management Cycle (PMC) and  Human Right Based Approach
  • Demonstrated experience in activity planning, facilitation, and follow-up.
  • Practical experience working on education and development issues at school and/or community level.
  • Experience in report writing and documentation.
  • Proven experience working in diverse and multicultural teams.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Nepali.
  • Preference will be given to local candidates with a sound understanding of the socio-cultural and geographic context of the project area.  

Job Description- Field Officer (Education)

4Social Mobilizer (SM)- 3 Positions
  • Intermediate degree in Education or a relevant discipline. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in education projects (preferably in Early Grade Reading, Inclusive Education, School Safety, or community-based advocacy). 
  • Psychosocial councilor training/ technical sub-overseer) may add value for the candidate
