Consultancy for testing E.coli count and Arsenic concentration

Background

SNV Nepal will be implementing baseline survey of Area Wide Rural Water Supply Services (ARWSS) project in Dailekh and Sarlahi districts. Baseline survey will be conducted at household, school and health facility level. In Dailekh district, working area are Dungeshwor, Gurans, Mahabu and Thantikanda Rural Municipality, whereas in Sarlahi district, working area are Chandranagar, Kaudena, Parsa and Ramnagar Rural Municipality.    

Scope of Work

Water samples will be collected from the sampled household, school and health facility which is estimated to be 400 in Dailekh and 550 in Sarlahi district. SNV Nepal is seeking services from water quality testing laboratories for testing E.coli count in samples from Dailekh, and E.coli count and Arsenic concentration in samples from Sarlahi. We encourage laboratories from district, regional and national level to apply for the task. 

SNV and Applicant responsibility

SNV Nepal will deliver the sample from the project area to the district headquarter (Dailekh and Sarlahi) on daily basis.

The selected vendor has to conduct E.coli count in Dailekh, and E.coli count and Arsenic concentration in Sarlahi and submit report to SNV as per agreed timeline. Applicant are free to apply either only for Dailekh, or only for Sarlahi, or for both the districts.

Time period

The estimated time period for baseline survey is in month of July 2019. The time period of baseline survey may increase and decrease based on capacity of vendor to handle number of water samples per day.  

Application

Interested applicants need to submit clear costing for estimated number of samples (with possibility for minor increasing or decreasing), including unit cost for E.coli count and Arsenic concentration and/or any other charges that apply. Your capacity to handle number of samples per day. Mention your willingness either to work in any one or both the districts. Qualified and interested applicant may drop CV at nepal@snv.org
