It is legally registered at District Administration Office; Surkhet dated 2061 BS and formally registered at Social Welfare Council, Kathamandu.It has been established to actively involved to work with backward community such as Dalit and Indigenous, senior citizen, women and children, war and natural disaster victims, human rights, Good Governance, water and sanitation, climate change, peace and environment. It has been working on Social mobilization ,peace promotion, education, Disaster management, support to ,Dalit empowerment, youth mobilization ,Sanitation ,poverty alleviation ,Good governance collaboration with different supportive agencies such as Nepal Government ministry of women, child and social welfare, youth and sports ,LGCDP,LGAF,IFN surkhet program, District Development Committee Surkhet ,District Education Office surkhet ,International Rescue Committee(IRC) ,CARITAS Nepal , Poverty Alleviation Fund(PAF) etc

CODED-Nepal has signed a contract with RTI International for implementing and managing the  community mobilization component of the Early Grade Reading Program (EGRP) in Surkhet  .The overall purpose of the community mobilization of EGRP is to increase family and community support for improvement of early grade reading for children from grades one to three CODED-Nepal  will work directly with School, SMC, PTA, Early Grade Reading sub-committee and all relevant community forums in close coordination with Education Development and Coordination Section at district level and municipalities in local for implementing activities related to community mobilization of EGRP in Surkhet .

Community Mobilization Officer (CMO) is responsible to implement  community mobilization activities of community mobilization of Early Grade Reading Program (EGRP) to increase family and community support for Early Grade Reading under the technical guidance of Program Manager Surkhet

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, social work, or related field
  • Experience in community mobilization work: dealing with community forum and people
  • At least 1 year experience in implementation and providing technical inputs on community mobilization and strengthening capacities of community forum.
  • Experience in conducting training for community forums.
  • Experience in early grade reading, primary education and ECD sector is preferred
  • Competent in computer skills,especially Microsoft Office Package
  • Oral fluency in Nepali and local language for communication (relevant RC)
  • Reporting skills in Nepali isa must
  • Preference will be given to local resident of relevant resource center, familiar with the local culture and language
