Visible Impact has been working in three core issues: women and girl’s championship, new generation leadership and global health innovations focused on sexual and reproductive Health.

Visible Impact uses human centered design approach to create a more enabling environment where sexual and reproductive health of youth is prioritized and youth themselves are able to advocate for their wellbeing.

Required: Grants Associate - 1

1. Post information

The Grants Associate works as part of a team of program staff who will be responsible for critical functions within the organization: coordinating, managing and executing activities related to programs and initiatives of the organisation, providing program support and managing the grants portfolio.

Post Title: Grants Associate

Reports to: Program Officer/Program Manager

Location: Kathmandu, Nepal

Duration: 1 year, with possibility of extension depending on performance

Post type: Full-time/Regular

2. Duties and responsibilities

With the guidance of the Program Officer/Program Manager, the Grants Associate will be expected to undertake the following tasks:

  • Work with senior staff to organize and coordinate the overall grant making procedure: proposal submission and evaluation, grant eligibility and renewals, grant tracking.
  • Research and identify grant and program related opportunities for developing new programs through idea generation and proposal writing.
  • Support Program Officers in the management the projects as per the need, including its planning, implementation and monitoring and maintaining its project documents, concept notes, action plan, financial plan, etc.
  • Oversee the internal and external communication related to the organization, and participate in the relevant network building meetings and opportunities.
  • Maintain the websites and social media sites of the organisation updating its achievements and progress.
  • Conduct research, workshops, publications etc, as per the requirement of the organization.
  • Support other activities of organization as per the requirement in consultation with the supervisor.

3. Competencies

  • Research Skills: Ability to effectively research grant opportunities, eligibility criteria, and application guidelines.
  • Writing Skills: Strong written communication skills to draft grant proposals, reports, and other relevant documents.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in reviewing grant applications, budgets, and compliance requirements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Project Management: Capability to manage grant applications simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and coordinating with various stakeholders.
  • Financial Acumen: Understanding of budgeting principles and financial reporting to monitor grant expenditures and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication and relationship-building skills to collaborate with team members, funding agencies, and partners.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Capacity to identify potential issues in grant applications or project implementation and develop solutions to address them.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and metrics to assess the impact of grant-funded projects and make recommendations for improvements or modifications.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, funding landscapes, and organizational needs in the grant-seeking process.

4. Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelors in a relevant field such as Public Health, Development Studies, Social work, Communication or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience in grant writing, grant management or fundraising within the nonprofit sector is preferred.
