Position Title: Finance Officer
Location/department: Full time Regular based in Kathmandu
Length of contract: One year (renewal)
Responsible to: Admin/Finance Manager
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:
The Finance Officer will be responsible for financial management of the projects under the supervision of Admin/Finance Manager at Mission East Country Office. S/he will closely coordinate with finance focal person of the partner organizations for the overall partner financial information management including following up and monitoring financial reporting of partners. S/he will also support on guiding, coaching to partners organizations for their efficiency and effectiveness financial management. The Finance Officer ensures the compliance with donor and Mission East’s rules and regulation and other relevance policies and procedures.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide financial support to carry out physical checks of supportive documents, expense payment and systematic monthly check of advances and manage advance settlement.
- Responsible to prepare cheque and process invoice, bills and documentation for payments and maintain financial transaction in accounting software- Quick Book.
- Assist Admin/Finance Manager during audit and financial/administrative control related to works.
- Responsible for recording of tax and arrange deposit to income/social security and supplier Tax in a timely manner.
- Ensure expense verification of Partners Organization financial supportive as donor requirements.
- Ensure project accounts and administrative asset inventories are accurately maintained and perform other job-related duties as requested.
- Support on preparation of monthly financial reporting and donor reporting on a regular basis where applicable.
- Support to Admin/Finance Manager to project budget management and improve forecasting performance, monitor admin budget where necessary.
- Responsible for day to day general management of offices and monitor usage of utilities and financial operation.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Min Bachelor’s degree in Management; Preferable Master degree in Finance/Accounts, Commerce, Management with minimum three years of practical experience in finance and accounts in I/NGOs. Knowledge and use of Quick Book system is desirable. Strong analytical coordination and communication skills with the ability to engage confidently and accurately in English.
