Vacancy Announcement for Field Supervisor

Action for Nepal, dedicated to improving community access to safe drinking water, sanitation, education, and health services across Nepal, is seeking qualified and experienced personnel for its ongoing Badel and Norung Drinking Water Supply Project in Aiselukharka Rural Municipality.

Position: Field Supervisor

  • Number of Positions: 1
  • Work Location: Aiselukharka Rural Municipality
  • Project Duration: 6 Months (with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance)
  • Gross Salary: NPR. 45,000/- per month

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, monitor, and coordinate daily construction activities of the drinking water supply project in the field.
  • Ensure proper implementation of technical designs, specifications, and standards as instructed by the project engineer and technical team.
  • Provide guidance to skilled and unskilled laborers for effective and timely completion of tasks.
  • Maintain field-level documentation, daily work records, and progress reports.
  • Ensure safety measures and environmental standards are followed at all times.
  • Coordinate with local stakeholders, project beneficiaries, and the Action for Nepal head office for smooth project execution.
  • Report field challenges and provide timely solutions in coordination with the technical team.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum qualification of TSLC (Technical School Leaving Certificate) in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of proven work experience as a Field Supervisor in Drinking Water Supply Projects in Nepal.
  • Good understanding of construction methods, quality control, and project supervision practices.
  • Strong ability to handle field-level coordination and manage teams effectively.
  • Willingness to stay and work in rural/remote project sites for the entire project duration.

  • Work Location: Aiselukharka Rural Municipality
  • Project Duration: 6 Months (with the possibility of extension depending on project need and performance)
  • Gross Salary: NPR. 35,000/- per month

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in the construction, installation, and repair works related to the drinking water supply system (reservoirs, intake structures, pipelines, distribution chambers, etc.).
  • Operate hand tools, small machinery, and equipment safely and efficiently as per supervisor’s guidance.
  • Assist technical staff and supervisors in daily project activities and ensure quality workmanship.
  • Work closely with other skilled and unskilled laborers in a team to achieve timely completion of project milestones.
  • Follow occupational health, safety, and environmental standards during construction.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience working as a Skilled Labor in Drinking Water Supply Projects in Nepal (at least 2 years).
  • Practical knowledge of water supply construction methods, pipe fitting, and related works.
  • Physically fit and willing to work in remote/rural conditions for extended periods.
  • Ability to follow instructions, maintain discipline, and cooperate with supervisors and team members.
  • Local construction workers from the same community/Districts will be given higher priority.
