MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Field Supervisor (Multi-Sectoral Program) is responsible for:

Key responsibility 1: Assist in planning and implementing the program focusing on the promotion of Neglected and Under-Utilized Crop Species (NUCS)

  • Assist in planning and implementing of nutrition-sensitive and livelihood interventions in the field
  • Support to design the approaches that increase community mobilization and ensure meaningful participation of women and vulnerable people 
  • Assist in revising and developing guidelines and monitoring tools for NUCS activities

Key responsibility 2: Support partner on training and input-related activities

  • Support partner in the creation of necessary training modules and tools for targeted groups and households of project locations
  • Provide supportive supervision for implementing partners and relevant stakeholders

Key Responsibility 3: Support partner staff to ensure timely documentation and reporting of activities from the field 

  • Assist partner in implementing the activities and/or training using appropriate tools as per need and request
  • Supervise the work progress through regular field visits
  • Inform the FSL department of ACF if any issues/challenges arise in the field during the course of implementation
  • Collect and compile case studies, photo stories, and lessons learn from the field with support from partner
  • Support to carry out a qualitative and quantitative assessment in the field
  • Provide timely reporting of field activities on a monthly basis 
  • Assist the team for the preparation of interim and final reports or as needed

Key responsibility 4: Support partner in coordination, integration, and advocacy at the local level

  • Ensure communication is open between partners, local government stakeholders, and ACF 
  • Conduct regular coordination, define project approach, and inform the progress of field activities to concerned Municipalities
  • Ensure proper coordination and communication with all concerned stakeholders
  • Ensure integration of FSL into multi-sectoral programming aligning to the Multi-Sectoral Nutrition Plan

Key responsibility 5: Participate in the administrative procedures of the organization

  • Contribute to the adequate follow-up of internal logistics and administrative procedures (BFU, PL, Cash Advance, MAF, etc.)
  • Adhere to the organizational rules, regulations, and policies that are being applied and followed in an appropriate
  • Ensure that the confidentiality of data, the property of the organization, and project beneficiaries is strictly maintained
  • Flexible to do the official work as requested by his/her line manager

Key responsibility 6: Other 

  • Proactively support ACFs commitments to gender equality, child protection and disability sensitivity
  • Comply with Safeguarding Policy and the relevant annexed policies, which fall under its scope.

Qualifications and Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or agriculture related discipline with at least three years of field experience in nutrition or livelihoods, preferably in an international NGO, promoting nutrition-sensitive interventions and livelihoods interventions.
  • Demonstrated skills in capacity-building training in nutrition and livelihoods
  • Demonstrated engagement in quantitative and qualitative surveys related to nutrition and livelihoods.
  • Good understanding of knowledge in nutrition, agriculture, climate change, disaster and related disciplines
  • Ability to analyze a situation, synthesize information, and use the outputs to improve implementation, good coordination, ability to work in a diverse environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, innovative, problem-solving, and result-oriented
  • Sensitive and responsive to Gender, Age Diversity and Social Inclusion
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, and negotiation skills
  • Good Computer skills (Microsoft package), including analysis and reporting skill, Flexibility – Autonomy 
  • Good standard of written and spoken Nepali and English language, 
  • Willingness to travel as required.
