Rukumeli Social Development Center-RSDC Rukum West has been implementing "Strengthening Maternal Newborn Health Services in Partnership with the Local Government" project with the funding of One Heart Worldwide (OHW) from 2022 AD at Rukum West District.

According to the meeting of RSDC’s Staff Recruitment Committee held on 28th March 2024 regarding the staff recruitment process for Field Officer- Clinical, the notice has been issued for the interested and qualified candidates to submit the application along with the cover letter and resume/CV with 2 references that outlines your relevant experiences and qualifications at the organization within 7 days from date of publication of the notice.

The recruitment committee of RSDC will go through the submitted documents for the shortlist and only the shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further evaluation.

Position: Field Officer – Clinical

Required Number of Position: 1 (One)

Duty Station: Rukum West 

Salary/ Benefit: As per rules of Organization (RSDC) 

Contract Duration:  One year with possibilities of an extension.

Report to: Project Coordinator (RSDC/ SMNHS Project)

Expected Start Date: As soon as possible

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Technical:

  • Provide continuous support to implement the OHW project including birthing centre equipment support, capacity-building training or coaching for a service provider, HFOMC strengthening and community-level activities. 
  • Conduct needs assessment of the health facilities and support in timely delivery of the support including equipment at the designated health facilities. 
  • Provide technical support visits to birthing centers, MNH service providers and FCHVs with a special focus on the quality of services and capacity building on data collection, reporting, recording and clinical skills. 
  • Frequent field visits to health facilities and communities to facilitate training, program follow-ups, and awareness-raising activities and to collect routine monthly data from health facilities and communities.
  • Conduct monitoring visits of the health facilities, nursing staff, FCHVs, and clients and provide necessary feedback
  • Keep a proper record of all the activities in the given form and formats and report on time in the specified time period
  • Contribute to preparing monthly progress reports, technical deliverables, presentations, and district work plans
  • Develop a network to collect and monitor all maternal deaths in the district and undertake follow-up visits to every household where maternal deaths have occurred to verify the death and identify causes of death. 
  • Share information about maternal deaths with the concerned HF and municipality and facilitate discussion to prevent similar deaths in the future.
  • Support to build sound relationships with Health Office, urban/rural municipality office, local government offices, program focal person, health facility staff, community stakeholders and female community health volunteers in order to plan & schedule the program and achieve program deliverables at the field level.
  • Any other job assigned by the Supervisor.

Job Specifications (minimum job requirements):

Academic qualifications and work experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or HA with BPH (Female Only) or Staff Nurse degree with two years’ work experience in the maternal, neonatal, and child health fields
  • Preferred experience in the maternal, neonatal, and child health fields.

Skills and abilities

  • Good experience in working with health service delivery systems.
  • Completion of SBA training will be an additional advantage.
  • Knowledge and experience in program and community-level training.
  • Practical experience in facilitation and interaction with government counterpart/local stakeholders at different local health facilities, and ability to deal with various stakeholders
  • Knowledge and experience using MS Office packages and statistical packages, email and the internet.
  • Good verbal and written communication in English, Nepali and the local languages.
  • Good interpersonal skills and experience working in a team in a multicultural environment.
  • Sets high standards for quality of work and consistently achieves project goals.
  • Ability to function as a self-starter with limited supervision.
