Location: Field based in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Patan and Tokha

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced field officer who can provide animal welfare awareness, coordinate field activities and advocacy in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Patan, and Tokha for the use of meat products produced with ethical considerations, fostering a culture of responsible sourcing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate connections and conduct school programs for climate smart cities and provide animal welfare awareness training to students. 
  • Coordinate field activities in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Patan, and Tokha.
  • Inspection of poultry farms is  essential to our program's welfare criteria. As a field officer, you must regularly inspect these farms for welfare. 
  • Visit restaurants to advocate for the use of meat products produced with ethical considerations, fostering a culture of responsible sourcing.
  • Observing and identifying prevalent methods and trends in the animal transport process to inform program strategies and interventions. 
  • Assist the field supervisor in forming Welfare Committees in Kathmandu and mentor them to advocate for animal welfare. 
  • Coordinate with the supervisor to develop plans for promoting animal welfare in communities. 
  • Monitor and facilitate the activities of the Welfare Committees, maintaining detailed monthly field reports. 
  • Ensure Animal Nepal's resources and time are used for authorized purposes only, 
  • Maintain smooth day-to-day operations and share field experiences with the program team.

What we are looking for:

  • +2 graduate or bachelor’s student in any field
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work compassionately with injured and vulnerable animals exercising patience and resilience
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Nepali and English
  • Willingness to travel for field work and adapt to diverse working conditions
  • Must have strong passion for animal welfare recognizing that the nature of work will be centered around the wellbeing of animals we serve.
