Organization Background
Educational Resources and Development Centre Nepal (ERDCN) is a Non-Governmental Organization established in 2005 and registered as per the Government of Nepal's Rules and Regulations. ERDCN is registered under District Administration Office (DAO), Lalitpur and has been affiliated with Social Welfare Council in order to plan and implement the different projects in the development sectors. This has been governed by its constitution and regulation as approved by DAO.
Our objective is; “To improve the participation of civil society in the education sector: to enhance advocacy, to ensure transparency and to increase effectiveness in national educational policy and implementation processes”
Specific objectives:
- Advocating for Quality Education: Strengthen national civil society engagement in education sector planning, policy dialogue; and monitoring transparency and accountability of national education sector policy and its implementation.
- Quality Education: leaving no one behind: Strengthen civil society’s role in promoting access to education for all girls and boys.
Job Profile
This is one of the core positions of WISE Project of German Nepalese Help Association (GNHA), and ERDCN. Incumbent is overall responsible for IT management of a digital interactive learning project that the organization is operating in its project areas. The Field IT officer is responsible for;
Areas of Responsibilities:
1. Field Visits, Monitoring and Supervision:
- Conduct regular field visits to project areas (schools in different parts of hilly region), spending most of the working time in field.
- Monitor the implementation and usage of the digital learning platform.
- Provide on-site technical support to users.
2. User support and training:
- Provide technical support to the users, addressing their issues and queries.
- Assist in conducting training sessions for users on how to effectively use the digital learning platform.
- Assist in developing training materials.
3. Technical support and maintenance:
- Manage and maintain the digital learning platform, ensuring its smooth operation.
- Ensure the platform is up-to-date.
4. Project updates and reporting:
- Provide monthly updates on ongoing projects to the concerned authority and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records of project activities and milestones.
5. Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with project team members, project beneficiaries (schools) to ensure seamless project execution.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide appropriate technical solutions.
6. Bug identification and reporting:
- Test the platform to identify bugs and issues.
- Report bugs to the concerned authority and follow up on their resolution.
Preferred Education Background:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or any other Technical certification in related field.
Preferred Work Experience:
- Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in handling IT services.
Preferred Skill Set:
- Good knowledge of computer hardware, networking, software, applications.
- Good knowledge of mobile devices troubleshooting.
- Good knowledge of management information system.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Good leadership quality to motivate, guide, lead the team.
- Work as part of a team in stressful situations; maintain composure.
- Able to show respect to other cultures and work in a culturally diverse environment.
- Able to ride motorbike and having motorcycle driving license.
The applicant must be very mobile and ready to spend most of their working time in the field in the different schools, moving from one to the other.
