Background

Access Planet is currently implementing the USAID Civil Society and Media (CSM) Program, led by The Asia Foundation as the main implementer. In partnership with The Asia Foundation-supported project titled "Strengthening Women’s Network to Foster Access to Justice for Women with Disabilities”. The project is being implemented in Rupandehi, Palpa, Dang and Banke districts.  The overall theme of the project is to enhance access to justice for girls and women with disabilities through network and collaboration in Lumbini province.

In the given context, Access Planet is conducting Training of Trainers (ToT) for the women human rights defenders who are working actively on the issues of access to justice for persons with disabilities. Therefore, Access Planet announces the call for Expression of Interest (EOI) from experienced and qualified experts for conducting Training of Trainers (TOT) for Women Human Rights Defenders at Lumbini Province on Disability Inclusion, Feminism, Law and Human Rights.

Details of the training:

The TOT will include courses on strengthening the local justice system, barriers to access to justice for women with disabilities, sensitization on local justice strengthening systems such as local government’s judicial committee, feminism, intersectionality, human rights, and national and international laws. The human rights defenders attending this training will be both with and without disabilities. 

Approach: 

The training will be provided to 16-20 human rights defenders for five days. The adult learning methodology including practical ways of deliberation including games, role plays, group discussions, marketplace strategy etc to be used to deliver the content in practical way. 

Tentative date for the training: 13-17 May, 2024

Location: Rupandehi.

Scope of the Work:

  • Prepare outline and content for the training in Nepali language (Unicode preferred). 
  • Conduct 5-days training at Lumbini Province utilizing the practical adult learning methodology.
  • Eligibility Criteria
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Disability studies, Gender Studies, development studies or Social Science
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the field of women, disability and access to justice
  • Excellent facilitation and consultation skills in delivering practical trainings at the grassroots communities

Service Duration and Location

The consultant will be working in close coordination with Access Planet for 10 days (5-days for producing content and 5-days for delivering actual training)
