Expression of Interest for Supply and Delivery of Construction Materials (SDCM)- RE-ADVERTISEMENT

1) dZi Foundation:

dZi Foundation is a US-based non-profit organization working with rural communities in Nepal to achieve prosperity by eliminating barriers to basic needs, fostering opportunities for sustainable livelihoods, and building their capacity to catalyze transformational change. dZi adopts a new five-year strategic objective (2024- 2029) guided by past learning, adaptation to the emerging policy and development contexts, and an improved focus on partnership, local ownership, and sustainability beyond external investment to realize the journey to shared prosperity.

2) Call for Supplier/s

dZi Foundation/ Nepal is implementing a project, Partnership for Holistic Community Development- Phase II, in three districts in the Koshi Province to help communities with improved access to small infrastructure facilities. dZi Foundation/ Nepal is seeking to select one or more eligible firms/companies for the supply and delivery of construction materials in remote areas of Khotang, Solukhumbu, and Bhojpur districts in Koshi Province.

3) Scope of work

As stated earlier, dZi Foundation/Nepal seeks the EOI from eligible suppliers with proven experiences in supplying and delivering construction materials as prescribed quantities and specifications to the designed project sites. Categories of the construction materials include: 

• Building Wiring 
• Construction tools 
• Fittings Accessories 
• GI nipples - medium class
• GI pipes
• Gutter works
• HDPE Pipes
• Iron/ Steel supply for Truss, Railing, Ceiling support, etc.
• Machine made Gabion boxes-hexagonal mesh type 100mx120mm with Mesh wire-10swg (0.0615 kg/m) selvedge wire-8swg(0.1057kg/m) (heavy coated G.I. wire)
• Manhole cover with frame (Cast Iron - Square 60cmX60cm) - Medium duty.
• Mild Steel Works
• Nail (Different sizes - 1.5", 2" & 3")
• Paintings - NS quality
• Ply Board (NS commercial-B Grade Knots free)
• Polythene Sheet (thin) - medium duty 500gsm
• Reinforcement bar (Fe-500)
• Safeguard Items 
• Steel Parts/ Steel Deck
• Tarpaulin (150gsm) - 30'X24'
• Window Grill - 10mm solid sq.

4) Deliverables

1. Project-wise supply and delivery plan. 
2. Once the supply and delivery plan is approved, delivery of the materials and proof of delivery. 

5) Duration of the contract

The duration of the contract is approximately 60 (sixty) days between February 21, 2024, and May 30, 2024. Preference shall be given to those with a proven track record of completing the assignment within tight deadlines and without compromising the supply quality and delivery timeline.

6) Minimum Qualification of the Supplier

• Should have successfully supplied and delivered at least 2 (two) assignments of a similar nature. 
• Should possess in-house capabilities including availability of the materials, human resources, and other resources to carry out the contract. 
• Others relevant to efficiently carry out the deliverables, listed above.

7) Evaluation Factors

1. Capacity of the team (30 points) – proven experience (at least two) as well as availability of construction materials to ensure the supply and delivery of similar construction materials. 
2. Supply and delivery plan (40 points) – clarity and soundness of the plan to package, supply, and deliver without compromising the quality, and quantity of the construction materials.
3. Costing (30 points) – cost-effectiveness, relevancy, and alignment of the estimated cost with technical deliverables, as outlined in the EOI, and the quality and quantity included in the BoQ.

10) Submission of EOI

Interested Nepalese firms/companies meeting the above qualifications can submit their EOI with (1) a cover page, (2) a brief plan, not more than 3 pages, in addition to BoQ in the prescribed format, (3) updated firm/company documents including profile, registration, and latest tax clearance certificate, and (4) evidence of similar assignment, at least two. Please download the (updated) BoQ, fill and submit it along with the EOI and confirmation of the validity of the price for 60 days as mentioned in the Duration.

Please submit your EOI and required documents electronically to procurement.np@dzi.org by/before February 20, 2024, with EOI for SDCM (RE) in the subject line. Please ensure that the attachment should not be larger than 10 MB. Telephone inquiries shall not be entertained. Canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification. Only shortlisted applicants will be invited for further process. dZi will make one or more awards to carry out the whole or part of the assignment as deemed necessary.
