The objective of this study is to generate an evidence-based analysis of the project’s contribution to enhancing the quality of the teaching and learning of English as a subject and core skills in the municipal education system of Mathagadi Rural Municipality.

Role overview

The consultant will

• conduct an evidence-based analysis of the Quality Education and Quality school project (QEQS),
• review programme documentation, monitoring data, reports and undertake targeted qualitative research including interviews, stakeholder consultations, and focus group discussions with teachers,
• Identify key outcomes, enabling factors, and constraints, and generate insights on the mechanisms that supported change.
• analyse how the British Council’s technical expertise, delivery model, and government partnerships contributed to observed changes, and
• produce a concise report highlighting lessons learned, prepare a strategic case stories paper and individual stories.

Consultant Requirements

• Master’s degree in education, social Sciences, statistics, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated professional experience in education research and project evaluation.
• Proven expertise in developing research tools, administering FGDs, KIIs and writing case studies.
• Sound understanding of research ethics, including informed consent procedures, safeguarding principles, and responsible data management, particularly when working with teachers, students, and education stakeholders.
• Ability to integrate Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) considerations into data collection.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluency in English and Nepali, with strong professional writing skills.
