1. Position Title: Disability Inclusion Project Officer
Project: CBM Global Funded Karnali Earthquake Recovery-One-Off Grant Project
Duty Station: Jajarkot Headquarter with Field visit As and When Required
Reports to: ASSJ Chairperson
Supervises: Finance Assistant (works closely with consortium team members of KERP)
Duration:- April 2026– with possible extension (subject to funding approval from the donor)
Level: Mid-level
Apang Swalamban Sanstha Jajarkot (ASSJ) is an organization of persons with disabilities (OPD) dedicated to promoting disability inclusion, self-reliance, and dignity for individuals with disabilities in Jajarkot. Its mission is to empower persons with disabilities through advocacy, capacity building, inclusive community development, and humanitarian response efforts. ASSJ works in close collaboration with all levels of government including local governments as well as with national and international development partners, disability inclusion (DI) networks, civil society organizations (CSOs), and the private sector. This position is responsible for managing the organization's role in promoting disability-inclusive policies, strengthening advocacy and networks, and building capacity at all levels under the CBM Global-funded Karnali Earthquake Recovery Project (KERP) One-Off Grant Project.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Disability Mainstreaming and Organization Development
- Mainstreaming disability inclusion in organizational (ASSJ) policies, plans, and project cycles in coordination with the Executive Board and consortium project team.
- Provide policy advice to support disability-inclusive institutional development of ASSJ.
- Collaborate with the Executive Committee to support smooth organizational operations, including DI mainstreaming across core functions.
- Participate in strategic reviews, internal meetings, and other organizational tasks as required.
2. Technical Support in Project Design, Planning and Implementation
- Lead the disability inclusive planning, implementation, and decision-making within ASSJ and the KERP consortium.
- Promote and facilitate the meaningful participation of persons with disabilities in the project design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation phases within the KERP consortium.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams, partners, and consortium members to enhance disability-inclusive practices.
- Support the development and implementation of an inclusive MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Learning) framework.
- Ensure that feedback mechanisms are inclusive and accessible at both organizational and project level.
- Support accessibility audits of public/private infrastructure, services, and communication materials during reconstruction and other project interventions.
3. Capacity Strengthening
- Lead and facilitate capacity development sessions for staff, board members, and other stakeholders.
- Organize and facilitate disability inclusion orientation, workshop and training for local governments, OPDs, CSOs, development partners, and community actors.
- Design and develop accessible training curricula and IEC materials such as Braille, large print, easy-to-read, sign language, etc.
4. Monitoring, Evaluation, Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
- Ensure that data collection tools capture disability-disaggregated data by using Washington Group Questions etc.
- Support the design and execution of baseline, and endline surveys, ensuring DI data is captured and reported.
- Document and share success stories, lessons learned, and good practices.
- Contribute to the preparation of DI-focused proposals for donor bidding, including developing ToRs, EOIs, and detailed activity/event reports.
- Analyze and present data regularly to inform adaptive programming.
- Lead or support periodic progress reporting (physical and financial) for DI-related project activities.
5. Representation, Coordination and Advocacy
- Coordinate with government, non-governmental organizations, OPDs, and development partners at all levels to advocate for inclusive policies and practices.
- Engage in strategic dialogue to raise awareness and commitment toward inclusive development.
- Representing ASSJ in relevant forums, including government, funding donors, consortium, and community platforms to ensure disability inclusion is prioritized and reflected in representation.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Disability Studies, Development Studies, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in disability inclusion, social inclusion, or inclusive development and humanitarian/DRR projects.
- Proven experience working with OPDs, civil society, and government actors.
- Strong understanding of inclusive tools, MEAL systems, accessibility standards, and participatory approaches.
Skills and Competencies:
- Fluency in English and Nepali (written and spoken); local languages are additional asset.
- Experience in using the MS Office package (MS word, Excel, PowerPoint etc) and knowledge in accounting software to some extent.
- knowledge of organizational development (OD), UNCRPD, SDGs, and national disability policies of Nepal.
- Excellent facilitation, training, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in report writing, documentation, and data analysis (preferably in Excel).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within diverse/consortium teams.
- Commitment to human rights and inclusive development.
- Carry out accessibility audits
2. Position Title: Finance Assistant

Reports to: Disability Inclusion Project Officer
Supervises: Non but works closely with consortium team members of KERP
Duration: April 2026– with possible extension (subject to funding approval from the Donor)
Level: Junior Level
Apang Swalamban Sanstha Jajarkot (ASSJ) is an organization of persons with disabilities (OPD) dedicated to promoting disability inclusion, self-reliance, and dignity for individuals with disabilities in Jajarkot. Its mission is to empower persons with disabilities through advocacy, capacity building, inclusive community development, and humanitarian response efforts. ASSJ works in close collaboration with all levels of government including local governments as well as with national and international development partners, disability inclusion (DI) networks, civil society organizations (CSOs), and the private sector. This position will be responsible for managing finances, office administration, and logistics for the CBM Global-funded Karnali Earthquake Recovery One-Off Grant Project, based at the head office of Apang Swalamban Sanstha Jajarkot (ASSJ).
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain neat and accurate financial evidence of all program activities in compliance with program requirements.
- Verify financial documents, supporting papers, and evidence before processing payments for program-related activities to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Prepare periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annually) and submit them to the line agencies concerned through the office line manager.
- Prepare monthly bank and cash book reconciliations.
- Ensure proper management of the accounting system using the double-entry method.
- Provide support and accountability during internal and annual audits.
- Ensure that all accounting practices comply with the organization’s administrative and financial policies and guidelines.
- Carry out administrative tasks such as drafting official letters, maintaining files, and updating vehicle logbooks.
- Deduct and deposit applicable tax within the required timeframe.
- Prepare quotation announcements, develop comparison charts, assist the procurement committee, and follow up on procurement processes.
- Maintain proper records, coding, and updates of the organization’s fixed assets.
- Safeguard and properly archive all official documents, policies, guidelines, and meeting minutes.
- Assist the program coordinator and other staff in organizing and conducting various events and activities.
- Maintain personnel records, leave records of project staff as per organization guidelines
- Maintain a record of supplies and equipment received
- Establish and timely update the inventory records and support on physical verification as required
- Other tasks assigned by the Supervisor
Qualifications and Experience:
- Intermediate (+2 or PCL) in Business Administration or equivalent with 3 years of relevant experience (BBS/BBA preferred)
Skills and Competencies:
- Experience in using the MS Office package
- Fluency in Nepali language and working knowledge in English
- Experience of handling Accounting Software for Financial Reporting.
- Will to work with person with disability and OPD.
