The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) is an international NGO that supports the building of democratic societies around the world. Since 2006, IFES Nepal has worked with the Election Commission of Nepal (ECN) and local civil society partners to enhance citizen participation and strengthen civil society, governance and transparency.

IFES Nepal is seeking a Data Analyst Consultant to support IFES Nepal to develop visualizations for data including voter turnout, voter registration and voter education. This consultant position is under the supervision of the Country Director and will be based in Kathmandu.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the IFES Nepal field team, the ECN, consultant(s) and partners to transform data sets, quantitative and qualitative analysis into compelling visuals;
  • Develop data visualizations using Tableau, including charts, maps and graphs;
  • Collaborate with IFES Nepal field team and other consultant(s) to receive and incorporate feedback into the visualizations;
  • Communicate with and present data visualizations to the ECN, as needed;
  • Coordinate with IFES Nepal field team and consultant(s) to provide visuals for reports and briefs, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, business analytics, data science or a related field;
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience with data visualization and/or analysis;
  • Strong computer skills, including excellent knowledge of Tableau and other data visualization programs;
  • Great time management skills and ability to work under tight deadlines;
  • Fluency in English and Nepali, both written and verbal; and
  • Ability to work independently in support of a team.
