SAHAMATI is a non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit making social development organization. Established in 2001 by a group of development activists and professionals, SAHAMATI is recognized as a capable and committed national-level organization for community plus humane development.

SAHAMATI works in partnership with a range of local, national, and international, government and non-government, private sectors, and academic institutions. It has a close relationship and affiliation with Social Welfare Council, NGO Federation of Nepal, Federation of Democratic NGOs of Nepal, Peaceful School International Canada, Disaster Preparedness Network, Tobacco Control, and Health Rights Network, and District Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Network.

Locally Initiated Project “Inclusive Rural Development Project” Nawalparasi (IRDN) is three years’ project funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) through Good Neighbors International (GNI) Nepal and implemented by SAHAMATI Nepal which is implanting at 13 wards of four rural municipalities (Sunawal, Susta, Pratappur, Sarawal and Palhinandan) and two municipalities (Madhyabindu and Sunwal) in Nawalparasi East and Nawalparasi West since July 2019. The objective of the project is to increase household income through the promotion of commercial agriculture and livestock, economic infrastructure development as well as youth and women employment.

Detailed Job descriptions/requirements

Position: Dairy value chain project facilitation consultant  

Required numbers: 1 (One)

Location: Project Office, Bardaghat Nawalparasi

Time duration: 8 months (August 2021-March 2022) 

Knowledge and experience: 

• Bachelor degree in science in Agriculture/Livestock from a recognized university. Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry Preferred.  
• Minimum one years of experience in community level in the field of sustainable livelihood, commercial agriculture/livestock service, and Agro Value chain development 
• Experience in upgrading agro value chain through enhanced private sector engagement. 
• Experience in working with entrepreneurs, farmers’ groups, cooperatives, and Community Based organizations (CBO)
• Experience in strengthening linkages and competitiveness of market systems for livestock products.
• Professional knowledge on business plan development for on and off-farm-based micro-enterprise. 
• Demonstrated technical, intellectual skills and interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of the English language, with writing, presentation, and communication skills.
• Two-wheeler diving license holder must be.
