CONSULTANT –SAFEGUARDING AND SEXUAL EXPLOITATION AND ABUSE AND HARASSMENT (SEAH)

BACKGROUND:

Nepal is a source, transit, and destination country for sex, labor, and organ trafficking. A 2014 report estimates that 230,000 Nepalis are subject to slavery at any given time, and nearly 30 percent of the economically-active population is unemployed or underemployed. The Hamro Samman project is a five-year program generously supported by the American people through the United States Agency for International Development and the British people through the United Kingdom’s Department For International Development and implemented by Winrock International. It seeks to build the capacity of and facilitate coordination among the GON, civil society, and private sector to combat human trafficking in Nepal. 

OVERVIEW:

The Hamro Samman Project is seeking qualified consultant for rolling out training, assessing safeguarding and SEAH minimum standards and help to furnish action plan for its implementing partners, as per Winrock International standards and compliance. 

TASKS AND OUTPUT:

The Consultant will work with HR and OD Manager to;

  • Roll out 1 training for staff and 1 for implementing partners;
    • Roll out 2 days training to staff
    • Roll out 3 days training to all 13-implementing partner focal points (expected 26 participants) 
  • Conduct assessment for Implementing partners as per checklist/minimum standards provided on the last day of training.
  • Help, review and finalize implementing partners’ prepare action plan (3-6 months) on all standards and submit to HR and OD Manager.  

TIMING, DURATION AND LOCATION:

The consultant should be available from w/o 20 January 2020 and the tasks to be completed by February 07, 2020. This will be fixed term deliverables-based consultant contract.  

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • The applicants must have extensive expertise in rolling out trainings, assessment and supporting on action plans for Safeguarding and SEAH policies, procedures and compliances for non-profits and civil society organizations 
  • The applicants should have 5 years of experience in international development specializing in human resources and organizational capacity development  
  • The applicants should be familiar with the legislations and policies governing non-profits and civil society organizations and the best practices in management of different types of non-profits and civil society organizations
  • The applicants should have relevant academic background and demonstrating strong experience on safeguarding and SEAH implementation. 
  • Fluency in written and spoken Nepali and English with excellent communication, facilitation and writing skills
