Position: Consultant – Project Coordinator (Nutrition for Life Project)
Position Summary
HEARD Nepal, in partnership with Helen Keller International, is implementing the Nutrition for Life (N4L) Project in Saptari District. We are seeking a qualified and experienced Project Coordinator – Consultant to provide technical leadership for the implementation of nutrition-specific interventions, strengthen health system capacity, support monitoring and reporting, and ensure quality delivery of project activities.
Key Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for:
- Providing technical support for SAM and MAM case management in line with the National IMAM Protocol.
- Supporting health workers and Nutrition Facilitators through coaching, mentoring, and capacity building.
- Planning and facilitating training for health workers and Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs).
- Conducting supportive supervision, monitoring visits, and field follow-up.
- Ensuring quality data collection, DHIS-2 reporting, documentation, and evidence generation.
- Supporting procurement and management of nutrition commodities (RUTF and Super Cereal Plus).
- Preparing technical reports, case studies, success stories, and project documentation.
- Coordinating with government stakeholders, local authorities, and project partners for effective implementation.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Epidemiology, or a related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor's degree in the above disciplines with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in nutrition programming, particularly IMAM/SAM/MAM interventions.
- Experience in training health workers and community volunteers.
- Strong skills in monitoring & evaluation, data analysis, report writing, and documentation.
- Knowledge of Nepal's health system, MSNP, IMAM, IYCF, and DHIS-2.
- Strong communication skills in English and Nepali. Knowledge of Maithili will be an advantage.
- Valid two-wheeler driving license.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in field settings.
Duty Station
Rajbiraj, Saptari District, with frequent travel to municipalities/rural municipalities within the project area.
Duration
1 August 2026 – 14 September 2026 (approximately 1.5 months), with the possibility of extension subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
