One Heart Worldwide (OHW) is an International Non-Governmental Organization that has been working in the area of Maternal and Neonatal Health (MNH) since 2011. OHW works with local communities and local health service providers to develop a culturally appropriate Network of Safety around mothers and infants, by raising awareness, teaching good practices, and distributing essential equipment to ensure that mothers and infants survive delivery and the first months of life.

Consultant

Purpose of the position:

The Consultant will  facilitate implementation of Simulation based mentorship program (SBMP) activities at field level effectively and efficiently. 

Work station- Kathmandu with frequently need to field visit to the program districts.

Major Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Coordinate with district and respective Hub and sub hub BC for smooth implementation of SBMP activities.
  • Support and participation in mentor development training of SBMP.
  • Support and facilitate in pre assessment and post assessment of mentors and mentees.
  • Orient to HFOMC member of hub and sub hub BC on simulation based mentorship program.
  • Support and facilitate in monthly session of SBMP at hub and sub hub sites.
  • Recording and reporting of all the activities after program completion.
  • Ensure the utilization of skill lab.
  • Maintain database of SBMP in MIS.
  • Provide technical assistance to mentors.
  • Identify the clinical needs and gaps and provide necessary suggestions to improve the quality of program.
  • Perform other task as per need of program and assigned by supervisor.

Expected outputs from the consultancy

  • Smooth implementation of SBMP activities at field level.

Assignment Period

  • The period of assignment will be about 5 months from August to December 2021 with possible extension.

Potential candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills

Bachelor degree in nursing  2 years working experience in related field

2 years working experience in SBA onsite coaching and mentoring as a co-facilitator

SBA with CTS and currently having clinical practice with in-depth knowledge of Government health service delivery system
