Consultancy for Financial Literacy Training:

Social Empowerment and Building Accessibility Centre Nepal (SEBAC-Nepal), established in 1997, is a national level service oriented Non-Government Organization (NGO) and is currently working in 31 districts of Nepal. SEBAC-Nepal is seeking consultancy services from individual consultant to deliver Financial Literacy Training in 4 palikas of Kailali and Achham districts of Sudurpaschim province.

Objectives: 

The primary objectives of this consultancy are as follows: 

  • Develop comprehensive training plan and materials tailored to different target groups (salaried workers, youths, MSMEs and farmers) for 2 days trainings as per Financial Literacy Guidelines of Nepal Rastra Bank. (A total of 4 trainings for 4 target groups in 4 palikas). 
  • Deliver effective financial literacy training sessions to enhance participants' understanding of key financial concepts and practices.
  • Prepare training reports detailing session outcomes, participant engagement, areas for improvement, potential impact, best practices and way forward. 
  • Compile a final report summarizing the overall impact of the training program and providing recommendations for future interventions.

Scope of Work:

The consultancy services will include, but not be limited to, the following activities:

  • Identify the specific financial literacy requirements of different target groups in rural Nepal. 
  • Developing customized training materials, including presentations, handouts, and interactive exercises, suitable for diverse target audiences for delivering trainings. 
  • Delivering interactive training sessions in selected rural communities, ensuring active participation and knowledge retention among participants. 
  • Collecting data during training sessions to evaluate participant learning outcomes and training effectiveness. 
  • Compiling detailed training reports after each session, highlighting key achievements, challenges encountered, and recommendations for improvement. 
  • Analyzing data collected throughout the training program to prepare a comprehensive final report assessing the overall impact of the initiative and outlining future steps.

Deliverables:

The consultant is expected to deliver the following outputs within the specified timeframe: 

  • Training report outlining the financial literacy requirements of target groups. 
  • Training materials tailored to different audience segments, including presentations, handouts, and activities. 
  • Training reports for each session conducted, documenting participant feedback, session outcomes, and lessons learned.
  • Final report summarizing the overall impact of the training program, including key findings, success stories, challenges faced, and recommendations for sustainability and future interventions. 

Duration: 

The consultancy is expected to commence for 1 month and will begin promptly upon signing the contract. The specific timeline for each deliverable will be agreed soon as the contract is finalized between SEBAC-Nepal and the consultant.

Qualifications:

The consultant(s) should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Demonstrated expertise in financial literacy education, preferably with experience in designing and delivering training programs in rural settings. 
  • Strong understanding of the socio-economic context of rural communities in Nepal, particularly regarding financial challenges and opportunities. 
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and create interactive learning environments. 
  • Experience in developing training materials, and preparing comprehensive reports
  • Proficiency in both English and Nepali languages is desirable.
