DRILP-III

Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) provides Technical Assistance (TA) to the Government of Nepal (GoN) through Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development and its Department of Local Infrastructure Development and Agricultural Roads (DoLIDAR) for rehabilitation and upgrading of approximately 425 km of damaged roads in 12 earthquake affected districts under Emergency Earthquake Assistance Project (EEAP). The programme is funded by ADB and SDC. AF-Iteco AG, Switzerland (AF-Iteco), on behalf of SDC provides TA through the Central Implementation Support Consultants (CISC) and the District Implementation Support Consultants (DISCs) of Decentralized Rural Infrastructure and Livelihoods Project-III (DRILP-III).

Details / requirements:

FRISA-ITECO is a Swiss joint venture consulting firm. We implement the District Roads Support Programme (DRSP) on behalf of SDC. The programme focuses on poverty reduction and inclusive development, thereby enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of the delivery of public services, and improving access of rural people to economic opportunities and social services. To supplement our team, FRISA-ITECO is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced Nepali national for the position of: Post: Community Development Specialist (Duty Station: Kathmandu with frequent visit to districts) Required technical competence: • should have a minimum qualification of Masters Degree in a related subject with 5 years working experience in community development. • should have experience of working at village and district levels and have good communication, facilitation and mobilisation skills. • should assist with the revision of social data for district transport master plans (DTMPs). • should assist with creating awareness, mobilization and participation of community people for smooth DRSP operations. • should assist with developing a phase-out strategy for local groups involved in DRSP activities. • should be able to develop DRSP community development strategy. • should be able to participate in policy dialogue and planning. • should be versatile in all the project transversal themes. • should have good knowledge in conflict sensitive project management. • should be able to lead and coach local NGO and own project staff. • should be competent in English and Nepali (both written and spoken).
