Position Summary 

The Civil  Land Development Engineer will be responsible for preparing and coordinating civil engineering designs, including but not limited to land development and site development of commercial, industrial, infrastructure and power-related projects. The role will involve site planning, grading, stormwater drainage, earthwork, roads, utilities, and construction documentation for residential, commercial, industrial, substation, BESS, utility-scale solar, and other infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, designers, surveyors, project managers, contractors, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver accurate, practical, and coordinated design solutions for primarily U.S.-based projects. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Prepare land development plans, site layouts, grading plans, utility plans, drainage layouts, profiles, sections, details, and construction drawings using Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD. 

• Develop and maintain Civil 3D surfaces, alignments, profiles, pipe networks, grading features, corridors, and other design elements required for project delivery. 

• Perform site grading, cut-and-fill calculations, earthwork analysis, site balancing, contour planning, and grading optimization while maintaining practical and constructible designs. 

• Design and coordinate stormwater drainage systems, including storm drainpipes, swales, channels, culverts, detention and retention ponds, outfalls, and other stormwater management facilities. 

• Support hydrological and hydraulic studies, drainage analysis, stormwater calculations, and related civil engineering calculations using appropriate software. 

• Design and coordinate water distribution systems, waterlines, fire-water lines, sanitary sewer systems, and other site utility infrastructure. 

• Develop internal roads, access roads, maintenance roads, site entrances, and other access-related improvements for land development and energy projects. 

• Prepare erosion and sediment control plans, SWPPP documentation, landscaping details, and other related civil/site development documents. 

• Coordinate civil designs with architectural, structural, geotechnical, survey, MEP, electrical, transmission line, and other engineering disciplines. 

• Review drawings and project documentation for accuracy, completeness, constructability, and compliance with applicable U.S. standards, codes, permitting requirements, and client specifications. 

• Coordinate design revisions, interdisciplinary reviews, markups, agency comments, requests for information (RFIs), and technical issues throughout project delivery. 

• Communicate with project managers, engineers, designers, surveyors, EPC contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to resolve design and constructability concerns. 

• Assist in preparing project deliverables and technical documentation in line with project schedules and client requirements. 

• Manage assigned design tasks independently while maintaining quality, accuracy, coordination, and delivery deadlines. 

Required Qualifications & Skills 

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline. 

• Relevant professional experience in civil engineering, land development, site development, grading, drainage, or infrastructure design; experience in the range of 3–5 years or more is preferred depending on project requirements. 

• Strong practical proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD, including surfaces, alignments, profiles, grading, pipe networks, corridors, and construction documentation. 

• Hands-on knowledge of site grading, stormwater drainage, stormwater management, earthwork, roads, water distribution, sanitary sewer, fire-water systems, and utility layouts. 

• Experience with detention/retention ponds, storm drainage systems, hydrology and hydraulics, and related calculations. 

• Ability to prepare, review, and coordinate grading plans, drainage layouts, utility plans, site plans, profiles, sections, and civil construction drawings. 

• Experience with U.S.-based civil engineering, land development, infrastructure, or power-related projects is preferred. 

• Familiarity with U.S. engineering standards, codes, design practices, permitting requirements, and project documentation. 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical communication, coordination, and review skills. 

• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams and international project stakeholders. 

• Good professional English communication skills. 

Preferred / Nice-to-Have 

• Knowledge of U.S. stormwater management, grading, drainage, utility design, SWPPP, erosion and sediment control requirements. 

• Experience with hydrology and hydraulic design software or other civil engineering design tools. 

• Experience coordinating with EPC contractors, clients, surveyors, agencies, and multidisciplinary engineering teams. 

• Ability to respond to client or agency comments and incorporate design revisions efficiently.
