Civil Engineer Designer/Drafter

Job Description

As a Civil Engineering Designer, you will be responsible for providing technical support for the development and design of civil infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities will include drafting and design activities, ensuring conformity with project scope and design standards, and collaborating with the project team on various infrastructure components. Perform engineering tasks according to standard techniques and procedures with supervision. Assist the project team in developing and designing paving, drainage, hydrology and hydraulic studies and design, grading, water, and sanitary sewer infrastructure, including plans, specifications, quantity estimates and cost opinions. Interact with staff representatives of jurisdictional agencies to obtain approvals for drawings and specifications during permitting and construction phases. Maintain and apply Civil Engineering’s CAD standards, templates, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across all projects. Work closely with project manager to support project deliverables and milestones.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer with strong expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D to support the planning, design, and execution of civil infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing detailed designs, preparing construction drawings, and coordinating with project teams to ensure accurate and efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare civil engineering designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Develop grading plans, alignments, profiles, and cross-sections
• Design site layouts, roadways, and drainage systems
• Produce construction drawings and technical documentation
• Coordinate with project managers, surveyors, and contractors
• Review design calculations and ensure compliance with codes and standards
• Assist with quantity take-offs and cost estimates
• Support projects through design and construction phases

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (mandatory)
• 2+ years of experience in civil engineering design (site, land development, or transportation)
• Solid understanding of civil design standards and local regulations
• Ability to interpret survey data and engineering plans

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with site development, roadway, or drainage design
• Knowledge of GIS, HydroCAD, or related design software
