By championing fair trade pricing, localized processing, and complete seed-to-shelf traceability, World Mart actively reduces post-harvest losses, empowers rural farming communities, and fosters a resilient, transparent national food and consumer goods ecosystem.
2. Role Profile
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will serve as the chief strategic and operational leader, responsible for steering World Mart Unique Solution Pvt. Ltd. through its next phase of sustainable commercial growth and social impact expansion. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the CEO will articulate and execute the overarching corporate vision across all business units-scaling retail distribution, expanding hospitality ventures, and strengthening supply chain partnerships with rural cooperatives.
Key responsibilities include driving financial performance through multiple perspectives and revenue diversification, establishing robust governance and operational efficiencies, and embedding quality assurance across the value chain. As the principal brand ambassador, the CEO will build strategic alliances with government authorities, development partners, financial institutions, regulatory bodies, and community leaders to advocate for ethical trade and elevate the Made in Nepal brand globally and domestically. Ultimately, the leader will build an agile, values-driven team that balances commercial profitability with measurable social impact for smallholder farming communities.
3. Key Responsibilities & Core Functions
1. Strategic Leadership & Business Growth
- Develop and execute long-term strategic plans to expand operations across all business units (Maulik Bazar, Familiar and Maulik Bhanshaghar).
- Drive franchise expansion models, retail channel growth, and new product development aligned with consumer demand for organic and local goods.
- Establish clear market positioning strategies to strengthen brand recognition both nationally and in targeted export markets.
2. Supply Chain & Rural Impact Management
- Oversee direct sourcing frameworks to guarantee fair trade pricing, ethical procurement, and capacity building for smallholder farmers.
- Optimize post-harvest processing, cold-chain operations, and logistics to minimize waste and ensure end-to-end traceability.
- Collaborate with local agricultural cooperatives and rural government bodies to enhance supply security and community impact.
3. Financial & Operational Excellence
- Take full P&L accountability; lead annual budgeting, financial forecasting, cash flow management, and capital allocation.
- Build robust operational infrastructure, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality assurance protocols across processing facilities, outlets, and dining venues.
- Identify potential risks-regulatory, operational, and financial-and implement mitigation strategies to safeguard organizational health.
4. Stakeholder Management & Brand Advocacy
- Act as the primary advocate and spokesperson for World Mart, promoting the ‘Made in Nepal’ mission to policymakers, investors, and media.
- Secure strategic partnerships and grants from government, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), development financial institutions (DFIs), and impact investors.
- Build and maintain deep relationships with key distribution partners, franchise holders, and retail networks.
5. Organizational Culture & People Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and empower a cross-functional executive team across retail, hospitality, supply chain, and marketing.
- Foster a high-performance culture grounded in ethical business practices, innovation, community focus, and continuous learning.
- Oversee talent acquisition, performance management systems, professional development, and succession planning across all operational teams.
- Establish clear key performance indicators (KPIs), performance evaluation benchmarks, and accountability frameworks to drive employee engagement, motivation, and retention.
4. Required Qualifications & Experience
| Education | Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Agribusiness, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a closely related field. |
| Professional Experience | Minimum 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 2 years in C-suite or senior executive roles within Agribusiness, Social Enterprises, Retail, or Hospitality. |
| Sector Expertise | Demonstrated experience managing multi-channel business models (direct-to-consumer retail, processing/manufacturing, and hospitality/service). |
| Track Record | Proven success in scaling commercial business units, driving financial profitability, and managing complex supply chains in emerging or rural markets. |
| Language Skills | Professional fluency in both Nepali and English (written and spoken) is mandatory. |
