Job Summary
The Part-Time Chef Instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality practical and theoretical culinary training to students in line with the institute’s curriculum and industry standards. The role requires strong hands-on skills, the ability to mentor students, and a commitment to maintaining a disciplined, hygienic, and professional kitchen-learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Instruction

Deliver practical and theory-based culinary classes as per the approved curriculum

Demonstrate correct cooking techniques, knife skills, mise en place, and plating standards

Ensure students follow proper food safety, hygiene, and kitchen discipline at all times

Adapt teaching methods to suit varying student skill levels
Student Support & Evaluation

Mentor students during practical sessions and provide constructive feedback

Assess student performance through practical evaluations, attendance, and participation

Support students in developing industry readiness and professional kitchen behavior
Kitchen & Class Management

Ensure proper use, care, and cleanliness of kitchen equipment and tools
-
Coordinate ingredient requirements and minimize wastage during sessions

Maintain class records, attendance, and basic reporting as required
Collaboration & Compliance

Work closely with the HOD & Program Director to align training delivery with institute standards

Follow institutional policies, academic guidelines, and internal SOPs
-
Support institute events, assessments, and demonstrations when required
Required Qualifications & Experience
-
Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts / Commercial Cookery or equivalent
-
Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on kitchen experience (restaurant, hotel, or professional kitchen)

Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience is preferred

Strong practical knowledge of kitchen operations, hygiene, and food safety

Ability to manage time effectively within limited teaching hours
