Gramin Mahila Srijanshil Pariwar (GMSP) is a community-based nonprofit and non-government organization, located in Sindhupalchok district. GMSP, with the support and collaboration of The Freedom Fund, is implementing "Prevention of the children from the worst form of slavery" by establishing and strengthening community level child protection mechanism in the project area. The organization is seeking for a qualified candidate to fulfill the following vacant position to implement for the same project.
Designation: Case Manager
Required No: 1 (one)
Location: Sindhupalchok District
Duty station: Office base with frequent travel to project area
Report to: Project Co-ordinator
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager of GMSP and the advisory guidance of the Executive Director, the Case Manager will be responsible for the following areas/activities:
Case management:
- Proper management and follow up of the cases relatedto Commercial Sexual Exploitation of the Children, Child Trafficking, Slavery and Child Rights Violation from the beginning and end of the case. Ie. Case registration, home visit, rescue, rehabilitation and reintegration.
- Conducting the fact-finding activities of the cases based on nature of cases; the cases reported to GMSP and cases identified in the project area.
- Provide psychosocial counselling support to the survivors and their family.
- Conduct proper consultation and coordination with child protection committees, local government, district level stakeholders and likeminded organizations for the case registration, prosecution, legal and rehabilitation support.
Monitoring and follow up:
- Conduct one to one and family level monitoring based on the cases identified in project area related to child protection.
- Conduct follow up activities to the project beneficiaries' i.e., beneficiaries of the livelihood, skill development, education support and case support.
Capacity Building:
- Involving in the capacity building activities of project staff in close coordination with the Project Manager.
Coordination, collaboration and networking:
- Coordinate with other NGOs/INGOs on issues of common advocacy related to child protection.
- Collaborating and coordinating with as well as maintaining good relationships and contacts with Rural Municipality/Municipality, District Child Welfare Board, District Administration Office, Police, Ward and municipality level level Child Protection mechanism, Social Leaders and other stakeholders.
- Work closely with ward offices, Municipality, Rural Municipality, Child Protection committees and other stakeholders for the beneficiaries' selection, rescue and rehabilitation processes.
- To actively work jointly with Local Coordination Committee against Human Trafficking, Child Protection Committees, Municipality, Rural Municipality, Ward Office, Schools, Child Club, SHG, parents/guardians/leaders and other stakeholders through joint planning, training and monitoring for child protection.
Documentation and reporting:
- Keep the proper documentation and progress tracking of the case reported to GMSP and cases identified in the community.
- Prepare beneficiaries tracking sheet along with the progress of every beneficiaries supported by GMSP.
- Developing and submitting reports as required on project initiation, progress, closeout and/or any alternative compliance reports necessary for projects.
- Ensure documentation of case studies, best practices, news cuttings, process, visual documentation and other as per project requirement.
- Developing and submitting update reporting as required by GMSP management.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:
- A Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree is highly preferable) in any social subjects.
- At least two years of working experience in child rights and child protection issues. Experience on psychosocial counselling will be an advantage.
- Good understanding of Nepal’s national policy and guidelines on child rights and child protection.
- Knowledge of participatory approaches and community sensitization and mobilization.
- Sound knowledge on child rights, child protection, child friendly local governance and child safe guarding.
- Strong coordination, interpersonal and communication skill.
- Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in planning and problem solving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Nepali
- Ability to work within a team structure or independently.
- Eager to carry other responsibility as per the need of organization apart from the written JD.
