Aafanta Nepal (KIN Nepal) is a national-level, not-for-profit non-governmental organization (NGO) established in 2008 in Lalitpur with the mission of ending human trafficking in Nepal. The organization works to transform the lives of vulnerable, broken, and rescued young women and girls, as well as their communities, by upholding human rights, promoting justice, and restoring self-dignity.

KIN Nepal adopts a holistic approach to address human trafficking through rescue and rehabilitation, psychosocial counseling, capacity building, empowerment, and community reintegration. Guided by this strategy, the organization prioritizes its program interventions under the pillars of Prevention, Protection, and Prosecution, while strengthening coordination, alliance building, and advocacy efforts against human trafficking, gender-based violence, and sexual exploitation of women in Nepal.

We invite applications from dynamic, qualified, and self-motivated Female Nepalese citizens for the following position:

Position:Case Management and Legal Officer (Female) – 1
Duty Station:Safe Home, Bharatpur, Chitwan, with a minimum of 30% field travel outside Chitwan, as required for programmatic, legal, and case management responsibilities.
Job PurposesProvide survivor-centred legal assistance, case management, and advocacy support to survivors of human trafficking and gender-based violence (GBV). Ensure survivors have timely access to quality legal, psychosocial, protection, and referral services through ethical, confidential, and rights-based case management, enabling informed decision-making, recovery, and sustainable reintegration. Coordinate with government agencies, law enforcement authorities, judicial bodies, legal service providers, and other stakeholders to facilitate access to justice and comprehensive support services. Contribute to awareness-raising, advocacy, and capacity-building initiatives aimed at preventing human trafficking and GBV while promoting survivor rights and upholding Aafanta Nepal's commitment to safeguarding, human rights, gender equality, and survivor-centred programming.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage individual survivor cases from intake to closure using a survivor-centred, rights-based, and trauma-informed approach; provide legal information, advocacy, psychosocial counselling, and referrals to legal, medical, psychosocial, protection, livelihood, and other essential services based on survivors' needs; coordinate and liaise with Nepal Police, legal aid providers, courts, government authorities, and other stakeholders to facilitate survivors' access to justice and protection services; prepare and maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case records, legal documentation, reports, and databases in compliance with organizational policies, safeguarding standards, and data protection requirements; conduct legal awareness, community outreach, and advocacy activities to prevent human trafficking and gender-based violence (GBV) and promote survivors' rights; and work collaboratively with Safe Homes, Transit Homes, Border Surveillance Centres, and program teams to ensure holistic care, effective referrals, regular follow-up, family reintegration, and sustainable rehabilitation of survivors.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university with a valid and up-to-date Advocate License issued by the relevant authority.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible professional experience in providing legal assistance, advocacy, case management, and counselling services to survivors of human trafficking, gender-based violence (GBV), or other vulnerable populations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in survivor-centred legal support, court procedures, legal documentation, and coordination with law enforcement agencies, judicial bodies, and legal aid service providers.
Core Competencies and Skills
  • Strong understanding of human trafficking, gender-based violence (GBV), and survivor-centred case management approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and complex cases with professionalism, empathy, integrity, and strict confidentiality.
  • Excellent case management, coordination, documentation, report writing, and record management skills.
  • Strong psychosocial counselling and active listening skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with survivors.
  • High level of cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively with survivors from diverse social, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Sound understanding of legal, ethical, and safeguarding principles, particularly those relating to survivor rights, confidentiality, informed consent, and privacy.
  • Strong commitment to social justice, human rights, gender equality, and the protection and empowerment of vulnerable populations.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Human Trafficking and Transportation (Control) Act, 2064, related regulations, and other relevant laws and legal procedures of Nepal.
  • Demonstrated creativity, initiative, problem-solving ability, and strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Nepali; proficiency in English (spoken and written) will be considered an added advantage.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team under pressure and with minimal supervision.
  • Strong leadership potential, a service-oriented attitude, sound professional judgement, and a high level of personal integrity.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality, accountability, and ethical professional conduct at all times.
