Call for Proposals: Preparation of National Framework on Nature-based Solutions (NbS) in Nepal

WWF Nepal

Details / requirements:

Nature-based solutions offer cost-effective, sustainable, and inclusive approaches to address land degradation, climate risks, and biodiversity loss while improving human well-being. Although initiatives such as watershed management, agroforestry, ecosystem-based disaster risk reduction, and climate adaptation are underway, they often remain fragmented and lack strategic coherence.

WWF Nepal is seeking a qualified Nepal-based organization to develop a National Framework on Nature-based Solutions (NbS) to support the Government of Nepal’s efforts to address land degradation, climate change, and biodiversity loss. The framework will align with the Global Standard on NbS and relevant international commitments, promoting standardized, inclusive, and evidence-based implementation of NbS across sectors such as forestry, water, agriculture, and disaster management.

The consultant will review existing policies and projects, conduct stakeholder consultations, and prepare a draft framework outlining vision, goals, strategies, and institutional mechanisms. The assignment will be completed by December 2025 under the guidance of the Department of Forests and Soil Conservation (DoFSC) and WWF Nepal.

Interested VAT-registered organizations in Nepal are invited to submit technical and financial proposals (in NPR) to proposals-freshwater@wwfnepal.org with the subject “PROPOSAL-NbS Framework” by 5 p.m. NST, 13th November 2025.

Further details can be accessed through the ToR which can be downloaded https://www.wwfnepal.org/get_involved/call_for_proposals/

Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted. Telephone inquiries are not entertained.
