CALL FOR PARTNERSHIP AND MID-CAREER EXPERTS

MULTIFARIOUS CONSULTANCY AND RESEARCH CENTER (MCRC)

Multifarious Consultancy and Research Center (MCRC) is a national-level research and consulting organization established in 2011/12. Over the past 15 years, MCRC has contributed to a wide range of national-level research, policy studies, evaluations, and development initiatives.

MCRC is now expanding its professional network to establish itself as a leading research, policy, and knowledge institution capable of generating evidence-based knowledge and providing policy recommendations to government, development partners, private sector institutions, and other stakeholders.

In this context, MCRC invites experienced researchers, academics, professionals, practitioners, and mid-career experts from Nepal, South Asia, and beyond to join its professional network and develop long-term partnerships.

A. CALL FOR SENIOR/EXPERIENCED EXPERT PARTNERS

MCRC seeks to establish long-term sectoral partnerships with highly experienced experts with strong academic and professional credentials.

Thematic Areas

Experts are invited from the following areas:

  • Economic Development and Political Economy: Development policy, geographical economics, health economics, political economy, public finance, taxation, trade, banking, industry, tourism, migration, and local economic development
  • Insurance and Actuarial Science: Actuarial science, insurance policy, risk management, and financial risk
  • Sociology and Anthropology:Sociology, anthropology, social transformation, indigenous knowledge, community studies, and cultural research
  • Feminist, Gender and Social Inclusion Research: Feminist research, feminist political economy, gender studies, intersectionality, LGBTQI+ issues, disability, social inclusion, equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Indigenous, Decolonial and Community-Based Research: Indigenous knowledge systems, indigenous research methodologies, decolonial research, participatory research, oral traditions, cultural heritage, and community-based knowledge production
  • Psychological Studies: Psychology, behavioural science, mental health research, psychosocial studies, organisational psychology, social psychology, and human behaviour.
  • Buddhist Studies: Buddhist philosophy, Buddhist psychology, ethics, meditation and mindfulness, Buddhist culture, peace and compassion studies, and comparative philosophy.
  • Peace, Conflict and Development: Peacebuilding, conflict transformation, social cohesion, conflict analysis, and development studies
  • Infrastructure and Engineering: Roads, transportation, WASH, irrigation, Electricity, environmental engineering, disaster risk reduction, and infrastructure development
  • Diplomacy and International Relations: Diplomacy, foreign policy, international relations, geopolitics, regional cooperation, and international development
  • National Security and Strategic Studies: National security, strategic affairs, security governance, and emerging security challenges
  • Governance, Democracy, Election and Electoral System, Law and Constitutional Studies: Governance, democracy, law, constitutional studies, Electoral System, local governance, decentralization, federalism, and public administration
  • Natural Resource and Environmental Management: Agriculture, forestry, environmental management, climate change, biodiversity, and natural resource governance
  • Public Health and Nutrition: Public health, health systems, nutrition, food security, health governance, and related disciplines
  • Aquaculture, Floriculture and Animal Sciences: Aquaculture, fisheries, floriculture, animal husbandry, livestock, pollination, and related areas
  • Agricultural Economics and Engineering: Agricultural economics, agricultural engineering, agricultural technology, agribusiness, agricultural policy, and value-chain development
  • Basic and Applied Sciences: Botany, zoology, chemistry, environmental science, biological sciences, and related disciplines
  • Education, Arts, Culture and Creative Industries: Education, art, culture, heritage, film, media, creative industries, and script writing 
  • TVET, Professional Training and Capacity Development: Senior professionals, trainers, and capacity-building experts with demonstrated experience in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), professional and executive training, institutional capacity development, and skills enhancement. MCRC particularly welcomes high-level trainers and subject-matter experts in public procurement, banking, finance, accounting, psychology, leadership and management, Artificial Intelligence (AI), information technology (IT), digital transformation, data and analytics, project management, entrepreneurship, and other relevant technical and professional disciplines.
  • Nepali Language, Literature and Linguistics: Nepali language, literature, linguistics, translation, editing, and professional writing

ELIGIBILITY AND PARTNERSHIP CRITERIA

Interested senior/expert partners should generally have:

  • At least 10 years of professional experience in national and/or international research, academia, policy analysis, consulting, or development practice;
  • A strong record of research, publications, and professional engagement in their respective field;
  • Experience in producing high-quality research outputs, preferably including publications in internationally reputed journals;
  • Strong analytical, research, writing, and knowledge-generation capabilities; and
  • Interest in developing a long-term professional and institutional partnership with MCRC.
  • Selected experts will be invited for further discussion regarding MCRC’s organizational partnership framework, modalities of collaboration, and long-term engagement opportunities.

B. CALL FOR MID-CAREER EXPERTS

MCRC also invites mid-career professionals and emerging researchers who are interested in developing a long-term career in research, policy, consulting, and development.

MCRC provides mid-career experts with opportunities to gain hands-on research and consulting experience, work with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to national and international assignments, and build professional relationships with experienced researchers and experts.

Eligibility

Applicants should have:

  • A Master’s degree or higher in one of the thematic areas listed above;
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in research, consulting, development, academia, or a related field;
  • A strong interest in developing a career in research and development;
  • Experience in preparing research papers, journal articles, policy papers, reports, or analytical publications;
  • Excellent written communication skills in both Nepali and English;
  • Strong analytical and research skills; and
  • Willingness to work in multidisciplinary research and consulting teams.
