Action Nepal is a non-governmental humanitarian organization, was established on 2000 A.D. with a view to develop the socioeconomic status of Nepalese people especially residing in rural area. It has paid its especial consideration/ attention to work with deprived and marginalized people of the country adopting the methods of optimum utilization of local resources and technology through its five thematic areas of intervention: Livelihood & Nutrition, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Good Governance, Construction and DRR.

Action Nepal, Dhading, is seeking a qualified, motivated, and result-oriented individual for the position of Business Promotion Officer to support cooperative business development, market promotion, and value chain strengthening activities under its ongoing project.

Position 1: Business Promotion Officer

Required Number: One [1]

Duty Station: Bharatpur-29, Chitwan Nepal

Contract Duration: From the date of appointment until March 2027

Major Responsibilities, Qualifications and Experiences:

Major Responsibilities

• Supporting cooperatives in expanding markets for turmeric and other potential spice products.
• Identifying and developing new business and market opportunities.
• Preparing and implementing branding and marketing strategies.
• Building partnerships with private sector companies, buyers, and other market actors.
• Coaching and mentoring cooperative management and staff on business development and marketing.
• Ensuring quality assurance of raw materials and finished products.
• Developing supply chain strategies to improve market efficiency and product competitiveness.
• Facilitating regular coordination meetings with cooperatives, Market Management Committees, and other stakeholders.
• Monitoring business performance and preparing progress reports and market analyses.

Qualification and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Agribusiness, Business Administration, Marketing, Agriculture, Economics, Rural Development, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in agribusiness, value chain development, cooperative strengthening, enterprise development, or market systems.
• Experience working with agricultural cooperatives and private sector market actors is highly desirable.
• Strong communication, facilitation, negotiation, and report-writing skills.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Willingness to travel extensively within project areas.
