Heifer Project International Nepal (HPIN) is a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to ending hunger and poverty and caring for earth by providing livestock, education, and other resources to help poor families become self-reliant. HPIN invites application from eligible Nepali citizens for the following position:

Position: “Business Development Consultant-Strengthening Dairy Cooperatives”- 2 

Station: Butwal and Janakpur Cluster

Major Roles and Responsibility

The dairy sector is one of the most important sub-sectors of the Nepalese livestock sector. One of the major challenges of the dairy sector is a milking cycle (Flush and lean season) due to which farmers and co-operative feel market uncertainty and risk. Additionally, they haven’t been able to get a fair price for their product. With this background, we are looking for a highly qualified individual to strengthen dairy’s cooperative of provinces 1, 2, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali.

The Consultant will be responsible for identifying the value chain actors of dairy sector, networking, and co-ordination with private sectors, developing the business model canvas/business plan of co-operative, product diversification of dairy co-operatives, obtaining the DFTQC, marketing and branding of dairy products.

Educational Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in agriculture economics, BBA, or any related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience having a proven track record working with dairy co-operative of Province 1, 2, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali.
