Heifer Project Nepal (HPN) is a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to ending hunger and poverty and caring for the earth by providing livestock, education, and other resources to help poor families become self-reliant. HPN invites applications from eligible Nepali citizens for the “Climate Smart Dairy Farming in Nepal” a joint project between Heifer Netherland, Heifer Nepal, ILRI and NARC and funded by Agriculture Foundation (AGCO). 

Associate Program Officer- AGCO Nos. – 1 (20 months) 

Major Roles and Responsibility:

The Associate programme officer will be responsible for implementing the project activities at the field level envisioned in the project “Climate Smart Dairy Farming in Nepal” a joint project between Heifer Netherland, Heifer Nepal, ILRI and NARC and funded by Agriculture Foundation (AGCO). S/he will be responsible to support for planning project implementation as per the project document, coordinating with stakeholders and report periodic progress in the prescribed format. S/he shall be also responsible for maintaining the highest standard in implementing project activities.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or any other relevant field (agriculture science, animal science, veterinary science, forest science) with at least 2 years of previous job experience of similar nature or MS degree in any of the above-mentioned fields with one year of experience.
  • Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements

Preferred Requirements:

Knowledge of animal experimentation (research design)

Program Officer- Planning Monitoring & Evaluation (PME) Nos. -1

Major Roles and Responsibility:

Program Officer- PME is responsible for project sub-award planning, budgeting, revision, field monitoring, reporting, documentation in close coordination with program field team. Her/his key roles to strengthen MEL system through operationalization of MEL plan developed during the project planning phase and enhance capacity building of partner NGOs. Moreover, her/his engagement will largely focus on preparation of periodic reports and communicate with government authorities, and donors, engage on routine data quality assessment, ensure project compliance. This position requires more than 50% field works for ensuring quality of reported data/figures and process monitoring.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Business Administration, Economics or any other social science-related field is required plus minimum 3 years of relevant experience in INGOs/Donor organizations. Master’s degree preferred,
  • Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements,
  • Knowledge and understanding of project monitoring and evaluation
  • Understanding of the current M&E trends and especially M&E systems in development organizations,
  • Excellent computer knowledge with command on MS Excel, SPSS, STATA or any data management and analysis software.
