Children as Zones of Peace (CZOP) is a national coalition of organizations working in the field of child rights that was formed in 2003 as a loose network in order to undertake collective advocacy to coordinate and integrate the efforts for protection and promotion of the rights of the children affected from armed conflict. Currently, it has fifty eight member organizations representing all seven provinces, where National Human Rights Commission, UNICEF and Nepal Red Cross Society are involved as observer members. CZOP was registered at District Administration Office, affiliated to Social Welfare Council and registered in Inland Revenue Department.

Since the beginning, CZOP has been emerged as a continuous movement advocating for children’s basic rights during and after armed-conflict. Institutionalizing its efforts of advocacy, this coalition has been forged to magnify and strengthen declaring Children and Schools as Zones of Peace and urge the adults and their institutions, including the state and non-state parties, to fulfil their obligations towards children in a strong, united, neutral and effective manner. CZOP seeks application from interested candidate for the position of Admin and Finance Officer to fulfil these given responsibilities

Admin and Finance Officer will work under close and direct supervision of Coordinator. The specific duties and responsibilities of the AFO include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead the overall administrative and financial activities of CZOP
  • Prepare Monthly and Quarterly Financial Statements required for donor/funding agencies ensuring whether the expenditure is in line with the approved budget breakdown and accounting principles
  • Prepare, report and ensure the financial transactions, payments and procurements held as per organization policy and government regulations
  • Verify the monthly or quarterly reconciliation report of bank account and expenditure for the reporting period
  • Submit financial and admin report to Program Director on accounting principles, entry of vouchers/transaction into FAMAS software and production of required financial reports and statements
  • Develop necessary reporting formats for having sound finance management of organization in consultation to the Program Director and Board for its implementation.
  • Coordinate  and attend the meetings with government line agencies, CSOs and other stakeholders
  • Ensure annual planning, periodic review and timely reporting of the projects and organizational activities
  • Arrange administrative supports for the program operation and CZOP campaign as assigned by the Coordinator and executive board.
  • Assist the executive board, treasurer and the Coordinator in preparing the annual budgets of CZOP and its projects
  • Maintain daily record of all financial transactions of the CZOP
  • Other tasks as assigned in regards to financial reporting, verification and accounting 
  • Prepare and submit the organizational financial report to the Coordinator and executive board semiannually and before General Assembly.

Core Competencies 

  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English and Nepali, 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including financial software use of Microsoft Office tools 
  • Ability to  collaborate at a different levels in the organization
  • Ability to work independently and as an active team player, should be self-motivated and have a high level of integrity and honesty
  • Willing to work under pressure, creative and innovative with decision making and problem solving

Desired Qualification and Experiences

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business administration and finance management related fields (Masters preferred)

Experience: At least 2 years’ of working experience administration and finance management in NGO sector (preference will be given to those having work experience in INGO sector)

Language Proficiency: Good spoken and written English and Nepali languages

Communication: Excellent inter-personal communication skills and learning attitude

Computer proficiency: Ability to use basic MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point, and FAMAS accounting software
