1. Content Writer

We are hiring a Content Writer cum Content Strategist who can combine strong content creation skills with strategic thinking. This role focuses on how stories are developed, distributed, and positioned to influence public discourse and support campaign-based work through digital platforms. This role sits at the intersection of storytelling, content creation, and digital strategy.

Key Responsibilities

A. Content Creation & Storytelling

  • Serve as the primary writer for documentaries, social media posts, digital reels, websites, and overall campaign messaging.
  • Develop compelling written stories and narratives that align strictly with project values, objectives, and strategic communication goals.
  • Provide clear and professional voiceovers for video content and digital campaigns as a secondary, supporting responsibility.

B. Strategy & Analytics

  • Support the development and execution of content strategies aligned with project goals.
  • Research and adopt trending ideas to ensure digital content remains relevant and engaging.
  • Monitor content performance and adjust strategies based on reach, engagement, and audience response.
  • Analyze insights to optimize future content and perform better.

C. Campaign Execution & Collaboration

  • Translate complex issues (civic space, elections, protests, gender justice, climate justice) into accessible narratives.
  • Contribute to storytelling frameworks and rapid-response content.
  • Coordinate with multimedia teams to align written content with visuals and videos.
  • Assist in managing content pipelines and deadlines.

Required Qualifications

A. Experience & Skills

  • 3 to 4 years of proven professional experience in content writing, content strategy, or a similar role.
  • Exceptional writing skills tailored for multiple formats (documentaries, social media, web copy).
  • Strong ability to understand and adopt current social media trends.
  • Familiarity with digital analytics and using insights to drive strategy.
  • Ability to record voiceovers when required.

2. Senior Video Editor

We are looking for a Senior Video Editor to lead the editorial vision of our digital content. The role requires a strong understanding of civic space, with the ability to transform complex grassroots narratives into powerful, ethical, and accessible stories. This is a strictly post-production role focusing heavily on video editing and motion graphics, with no shooting required.

Key Responsibilities

A. Post-Production & Editing Execution

  • Focus exclusively on video editing and post-production tasks (No field shooting or videography required).
  • Edit and review short-form and long-form videos, with a heavy focus on documentary production and short-form digital reels.
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of editing, color grading, sound design, and music selection.
  • Create amazing and dynamic videos by seamlessly integrating advanced motion graphics.

B. Editorial Vision & Direction

  • Lead editorial planning, creative direction, and storytelling across projects.
  • Ensure consistency in tone, language, framing, and values across all Freedom Studio communications.
  • Apply conflict-sensitive, feminist, and rights-based lenses in all content.
  • Develop and oversee compelling, high-quality stories that strictly align with project values, objectives, and approved communication frameworks.

C. Collaboration & Mentorship

  • Mentor and guide content writers, content strategist and multimedia team members.
  • Collaborate with the program team, designers, and videographers to strengthen narrative impact.
  • Support documentation of training, workshops, and field activities.
  • Coordinate with partners and donors for content review and approvals when required.

Required Qualifications

A. Experience & Skills

  • 3 to 4 years of professional experience working strictly as a dedicated video editor.
  • Proven experience and strong skills in creating motion graphics for video content.
  • Excellent ear and eye for post-production details, including advanced sound effects, music selection, and high-end color grading.

B. Tools & Software

  • High proficiency in industry-standard software: Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
