Urban Environment Management Society (UEMS), a non profitable nongovernmental organization working in WASH, food Security and sustainable livelihood, solid waste management, climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction and alternative energy, is looking for a Social Mobilizer for “Triyuga Integrated WASH” Project through relevant experience and knowledge in social mobilization.

Job Summary: 

• Organizing different WASH campaigns, events and Open defecation free (ODF) campaigns at community and municipal level
• Facilitating events and activities for capacity building and awareness
• Maintaining all necessary database on beneficiaries, community and stakeholders contributions, and all documents of community meetings
• Coordinating with users committees, community groups, local government bodies, forums, etc. directly linked to the project and ensure efficient functioning of community activities
• Conduct and attend community meetings, trainings and workshops as well as perform community based activities, including appraisals, surveys, monitoring and follow up support

Qualification and Experiences:

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, development studies, health, education or any relevant discipline with 1 year experience in WASH sector 

          OR 

• Certificate level with 3 years of experience in WASH sector
• Experience on community mobilization work with good training facilitation and campaign organization skills especially related to WASH
• Ability of develop and deliver hygiene program related to WASH
• Sound knowledge on community led total sanitation approach, sanitation promotion and triggering tools, gender equity and social inclusion, open defecation free movements, hygiene behaviour, etc.
• Skills and knowledge on coordination and linkage with different stakeholders
• Good data management and computer skills especially on Word, Excel, power point presentation etc
• Familiar with child right and child protection issues & policy
• Fluency in written and verbal communication in English and Nepali
