PHASE Nepal is a not for profit NGO established in 2006 by a group of development professionals dedicated to supporting poor communities in remote areas of Nepal. For the last 11 years PHASE Nepal has been implementing Health, Education and Livelihoods improvement programmes in Humla, Bajura, Mugu, Gorkha and Sindhupalchok districts.  Currently, PHASE Nepal's projects health, education, livelihoods and reconstruction are funded by number of institutional and individual donors from different countries. PHASE has over 140 staff working for different projects. PHASE Nepal is currently in need of the following staff member. 

Position: Research, Monitoring & Communications Officer 

Required Number: 1 

Duty Station: PHASE Nepal Office, Bhaktapur with occasional travels to project areas and working district headquarters. 

Salary & Benefits: NRs. 43,470/- per month, plus 10% provident fund after three months of probation period, one month’s salary as festival bonus after working for a year, plus medical facility and accidental insurance. Lunches are provided at the office and TA/DAs while in travel. 

The Research, Monitoring & Communications Officer will be reporting to the Programme Manager and is responsible for overall Research & Monitoring of PHASE Nepal in coordination with project staff members. Should build good rapport with government offices and local bodies. 

Required Qualification and Competencies: 

  • Master’s Degree in any disciplines with minimum 2 years’ of experiences or
  •  Bachelor's Degree in any disciplines with minimum 4 years of relevant work experience in similar job. 

 

Key responsibilities include:

  •  Prepare proposals and get approvals from Social Welfare Council, district line agencies and different ministries for different projects.
  • Report to government ministries, Social Welfare Council and district line agencies on the progress of the PHASE and activities.  
  •  Represent the PHASE in different forums and network with government and nongovernmental organization.
  •  Update PHASE’s website and facebook pages.
  • Organize public auditing and DPACs.
  • Must have excellent command in report writing and communication skill.
  •   Must have fluency in both speaking and written English/Nepali language with touch typing skill.
