KIRDARC Nepal is an NGO dedicated to Human Rights, Peace Building, Media and Development in Karnali Zone since 1999. It works with a mission to enable Karnali people to claim and exercise their rights for poverty reduction and improved livelihoods through their organization, research, policy advocacy and judicious resources mobilization. It has been implementing various project/programs with the funding support of different partner organizations.

Karnali Integrated Rural Development and Research Centre (KIRDARC Nepal) is an NGO working for the people of remote districts of Nepal to enhance their livelihoods through right-based approach development model. It works with a mission to enable people and communities to claim and exercise their human rights, including the right against poverty and neglect by way of educating, organizing and mobilizing primary right holders in human rights promoting actions; research and evidence-based policy advocacy; providing complementary services; economic empowerment and promoting socially responsible investment. Since 1999, KIRDARC has been implementing several projects in the region to support the empowerment of people living in the region. 

At this moment, KIRDARC has is looking for application from eligible and competent Nepali Citizens for the following position:

Job Position: Quality Assurance & Learning Documentation Officers 

Location: Based in Kathmandu with at least 50% field visit to districts) 

Duration: up to February 2015 with possibility of extension  

Major Responsibilities: 

The position will serve as a focal person for quality assurance, generating and documenting learning of the project implemented by KIRDARC Nepal related to disaster risks reduction and climate change adaptation. S/he will be responsible for designing the quality assurance and learning process/methodology and incorporate into ongoing project intervention to assess the quality of process & results and generate the lessons from. The key areas of responsibilities are: 

  • Design/develop and roll-out the learning mechanism/process on DRR & CCA
  • Prepare and implement Monitoring plan of the project to track the project's intervention, and quality of results
  • Collect, develop and disseminate case stories, project learning and project's result
  • Contribute on data collection and analysis, data quality assessments, and/or performance monitoring and reporting. 
  • Regularly update the project data, information and assist for preparing periodic project reports
  • Support technical work such as reviewing M&E methods, carrying out training needs, designing M&E tools and advising M&E technical assistance to project team
  • Build capacity of project team on matters related to Monitoring and document to ensure a reasonable level of understanding among staff of project goals, objective, results, mechanisms for  measuring results and reporting on the same
  • Generate learning and document for wider dissemination 

Qualification and Key Competencies: Minimum Bachelor Degree in social science or any development discipline with a minimum of 3 years of experience in planning, monitoring and learning documentation. S/he should have excellent skill on documentation in English along with computer knowledge specially Word, Excel, Power Point and SPSS or other data base software, and willing to travel frequently to remote project sites. The experience on community based disaster risks reduction and climate change adaptation will be an added value.
