DanChurchAid (DCA) is a faith-based, Danish non-missionary organization. We work for the poor, vulnerable and socially excluded communities and believe in life before death. In Nepal,we are involved in several thematic areas with our work focusing on resilient livelihood and food security, active citizenship, and humanitarian response and DRR (Disaster Risk Reduction).The DCA SARO invites applications from qualified and competent Nepalese candidates for the following positions.

Project Coordinator (1)  for Regional Food Security Governance Project (RFSGP).

The position is based in Kathmandu with frequent field visits to mid and far western regions.The position is required till December 2018 with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for overall planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, supervision and reporting of the project in close coordination with project team members.S/he will be also responsible for networking, coordination, advocacy, and liaise with concerned government, community service organizationsand other stakeholders. In addition responsible to provide managerialand technical guidance to partner organizationsand enhance their capacities.S/he would also ensure that project has been implemented as per the project document and action plan.

Required qualifications and competencies:

Master degree in agriculture, rural development, sociology or anyother relevant subject with minimum five years of relevant work experience, preferably on right to food and food security. The position also requires strong knowledge on program cycle management and should have excellent management skill, report writing skills and documentation skill.  Should have eexcellent communication skills in both English and Nepali, Critical understanding of food and nutrition security, knowledgeableon policy advocacy, and experience of working with back donor projects and most preferably EU funded projects. Proven analytical abilities, experience on rights based approach, policy advocacy, good governance, and experience in strengthening downward accountability.

Project Coordinator (1) for SAHAS Project

DCA is implementing a SAHAS Project (strengthening capacity of earthquake affected families with children and helping them attain a resilient society) from 1st July 2017 to 30 June 2020.The project areas are situated in Dhading and Gorkha districts where the project follows a multi – sectoral approach in partnership with other governmental and non-governmental organizations. The position is based in Dadding district, joint office with partner organizations, with frequent travel to working sites.

Key Responsibilities:

This Project Coordinator will work as the main focal point between the DCA SAHAS project in Kathmandu and the partner organizations in the field. The position will be mainly responsible for management and technical guidance to partner organizations in the areas of livelihood, WASH, resilient and Disaster risk reduction (DRR).  S/he would also assist partner organizations on all aspects of programme implementation including planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, budgeting, reporting, procurement and logistics arrangements and building the capacity of partner organizations.  S/he would be responsible for liaising with government and other stakeholders at district level. In addition responsible for reporting, writing case studies, and strengthening accountability and transparency. 

Required Qualification/Competencies:

Master degree in agriculture, or livelihood, or social science. Or rural development or any other relevant subject and should have minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in humanitarian and development field. The position requires strong communication skill in both in English and Nepali, strong analytical, reporting, monitoring, documentation, facilitation, coordination and networking skills. The position requires knowledge on Right Based Approach, gender sensitive perspective and, experience of responding to disasters or knowledge of the DRM would be an advantage.Knowledge on procurement, logistics and financial management would add value.
