We are a passionately non-institutional, non-formal organization with emphasis on building a scalable rural health/education delivery module through empowered community owned and motivated projects in a sustainable manner.

Programme Co-ordinator

Around Good People is a grassroots level volunteering organization focusing on healthcare delivery in remote communities of Nepal. It also plans to provide a wide range of international volunteering opportunities for students and professionals in collaboration with leading NGOs and 3rd party Projects all over Nepal. It will also provide overseas healthcare electives placements for medical/dental students in collaboration with the teaching hospitals based in Nepal.

Program Coordinator job description

We have an ambitious plan to organize and implement an overseas medical electives placement in collaboration with international and Nepalese medical institutions, we also organize international volunteers placement in various 3rd party projects in Nepal and organise free health outreaches in collaboration with various governmental and health institutions in remote communities of Nepal.We are looking for a competent Program Coordinator to undertake a variety of administrative and program management tasks related to our projects. You will help in planning and organizing programs and activities as well as carry out important operational duties.

To be an excellent program coordinator, you must be organized and detail-oriented, comfortable working with diverse teams. If you have further skills in program development and human resources support, we’d like to meet you.

The goal will be to facilitate the effective management of programs according to the organization’s standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support planning and coordination of a program and its activities
  • Ensure implementation of policies and practices
  • Maintain budget and track expenditures/transactions
  • Manage communications through media relations, social media etc.
  • Help build positive relations within the team and external parties
  • Schedule and organize meetings/events and maintain agenda
  • Ensure technology is used correctly for all operations (video conferencing, presentations etc.)
  • Prepare paperwork and order material
  • Keep updated records and create reports or proposals
  • Support growth and program development

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as program coordinator or relevant position
  • Knowledge of program management and development procedures
  • Knowledge of budgeting, bookkeeping and reporting
  • Tech savvy, proficient in MS Office, excel, power-point, photoshop, etc.IT competency will be an added advantage
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field. 
  • Ability to work with diversity and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and efficient
  • Understanding of the voluntary sector and volunteers and its ways of working with knowledge and understanding of inclusive ways of working.
  • Skilled communicator at all levels; Including interpersonal skills is very important.
  • Able to build and maintain strong working relationships and provide first class customer care. Commitment to working outside normal office hours, at weekends and away from home when the job requires this.
  • Setting and successful management of annual plans and budgets.
  • Experience of monitoring and reporting on volunteer activity and impact in an engaging and meaningful way.
  • A full driving licence and own transport (2-wheelers) are essential as applicants should be able to undertake independent travel.
