Pact, a non-profit organization based in Washington, DC, is implementing a USAID-funded project, Sajhedari Bikaas, aimed at empowering local communities to direct their own development in the Mid and Far West Regions of Nepal. Pact is looking for a highly competent Nepali citizen to fill the following position to be based in Nepalgunj. 

Position: Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Associate 

The M&E Associate will be responsible for assisting all project monitoring activities. S/he will help to implement a Performance Based Management System (PBMS) that ensures comprehensive and accurate data collection, proper database development, and analysis of results to improve project implementation. The successful candidate will have experience working on projects funded by the US Government or other major international donors.The M&E Associate reports to the M&E Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect data from grantees, partners, and other sources
  • Perform regular filed visits to ensure timely data collection
  • Maintain effective communication with implementing partners to organize events and acquire relevant information and data 
  • Support capacity building efforts and management of training events
  • Support M&E Manager in conducting or facilitating OPI, OCA, and data quality assessment
  • Support thematic outcome assessments 
  • Support maintenance of DevResults database 
  • Provide data for periodic narrative reports 
  • Liaise with program staff as and when required 
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.A. or equivalent in related field with practical experience in database management
  • Three years of relevant professional experience preferred
  • Experience with evaluation and research design, data collection and analyses, GIS, and working knowledge in computer software: MS Office, MS Access and database programs 
  • Experience with USAID regulations, systems, and procedures
  • Experience with civil society organizations preferred
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage a variety of activities concurrently
  • A strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a high profile and fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English and Nepali required 
  • Excellent Nepali and English typing skills required
  • Open to Nepali nationals only
