Environment and Public Health Organization Established in 1990, ENPHO is a service-oriented, scientific, national non-governmental organization that envisages contributing to sustainable community development by combining research and action through integrated programs in the fields of environment and public health. ENPHO runs a government accredited laboratory and promotes eco-friendly technologies with the aim of establishing eco-societies. ENPHO develops and promotes integrated community based approaches for safe water, sustainable sanitation, solid waste management, hygiene behavior and improving indoor air quality monitoring to create healthy societies. Furthermore, knowledge-based education and advocacy campaigns help on achieving ENPHO's mission.

ENPHO’s mission is to “Develop and promote appropriate technologies to enable societies become eco-friendly”. 

ENPHO has a full-fledged laboratory for environmental monitoring and analysis and it is promoting technologies for household water treatment, ecological sanitation, rain water harvesting, and energy conservation. ENPHO has been actively involved in promoting sustainable sanitation for over twodecade, through research, demonstrationcapacity development. ENPHO believes that the WASH initiatives need to be strengthened at the level of local governments and communities to make to more sustainable. Local governments are the key institutions for providing basic services such as water and sanitation.Previous experiences from different parts of Nepal haves shown that community based initiatives where local people have ownership and management responsibilities of local projects make them more effective and sustainable. Therefore ENPHO is working closely with local governments agencies as well as community groups to ensure that project activities reflect local needs and these institutions own the project and its outcomes. 

To implement multi-year WASH and Environmental Management projects aimed at promoting sustainable water sanitation and hygienein local governance, community stabilization and decision making at local level, ENPHO is seeking the following candidate:

JOB POSITION: DISTRICT PROGRAMME COORDINATOR – 1 (ONE)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The District Programme Coordinator is one of the key staff based in Regional Field Office of ENPHO. S/He will be mainly responsible for planning, implementing projects activities, monitoring and preparing periodic reports in the Regional Field Office ensuring consistency with Annual Work Plan.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

1. Planning, Implementation, Monitoring and reporting

  • Overall planning, implementation & monitoring of the projects activities in the Regional Field Officeas per Annual Work Plan.
  • Prepare periodic project reports
  • Develop and prepare monitoring plan, regularly monitor and review the activities to ensure the activities are in line with achieving expected outputs.
  • Supervise and manage the project team in Regional Field Office.
  • Manage and maintain record of usage of resource including financial records. 

2. Coordination, communication and representation

  • Communicate the programme related information to the Programme Manager,  management committee, programme staffs, and external stakeholders in regular basis.
  • Communicate and coordinate with district level local government authorities, service providers, resource person, consultant, and other stakeholders for the effective delivery of the programmeactivities.
  • Coordinate and communicate with local government units to ensure compliance with their policies
  • Maintain good relation with target group, strategic partners, government authorizes, and stakeholders.
  • Represent ENPHO at different district level meetings,  workshops and forums.

3. Documentation and dissemination

  • Document the project activities and prepare project briefs, case studies, lesson learning, for sharing the experience with partners, visitors and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports to Programme Manager

4. Other Duties 

  • The DPC is responsible to fulfill the requirement of ENPHO as assigned by ProgrammeManager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in environmental engineering or science, social science, business administration or development related fields with at least 2 years of experience in similar capacity.
  • Experience in project planning, implementation, management and prioritizing tasks.
  • Strong communications, coordinating and sound report writing skills both in English and Nepali.
  • Should have significant national and global knowledge on WASH.
  • A sound track record of designing and delivering programmes (trainings, workshops, seminars, conferences, and campaigns).
  • Prior experience in WASH programmes, research projects and entrepreneurship development sector would be an advantage
  • Ability to work independently andas a team player.
  • Sound analytical skills, scenario development skills will be an asset.
  • Should have good computer skill (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, SPSS, email/internet)
